🌿♻️ Creative Up-cycle Plastic (CUP) Turns 10! 🇬🇧

Ten years ago, Creative Up-cycle Plastic (CUP) began as a simple idea — to rethink plastic, reduce waste, and inspire creativity by giving discarded materials a second life.

What started as a small awareness page has grown into a journey of learning, sharing, and believing that creativity can change how we see waste.

Over the past decade, CUP has encouraged people to:
✨ see value where others see rubbish
✨ transform waste into learning and art
✨ care for our environment through small everyday actions

Today marks not just an anniversary, but a new chapter.

Having now rooted life in the United Kingdom, I hope to continue and extend the mission of CUP here — connecting sustainability, creativity, education, and community across cultures and generations.

The vision remains the same:
🌱 Reduce waste
🎨 Inspire creativity
🤝 Build awareness together
♻️ Give materials — and ideas — a second life

May CUP continue to grow, just like a seed planted years ago, now finding new soil to flourish.

♻️ From Bleach Bottles to Blooming Ideas 🌱

Some friends have asked me,
“Why do you love using plastic to create things?”

The truth is —
I don’t love plastic.
I love transformation.

Here’s a little glimpse of what I do in my office.
Old bleach bottles, unwanted containers, plastic cups…
Cut, flipped, reshaped, redesigned —
They become characters, planters, learning tools, and conversation starters.

What some people see as waste,
I see as potential.

Creative upcycling is not just about making something “nice.”
It’s about teaching value:
• Respect for materials
• Environmental responsibility
• Imagination and problem-solving
• Seeing possibility where others see rubbish

When students realise that a simple bleach bottle can “grow hair” and become a plant head,
they begin to understand something deeper —
Things can be renewed.
So can people.

My office is my small creative lab.
Recycle × Design × Education.

Nothing here is wasted.

🌿 Senior Gardener’s Journal 💡

📅 Today’s Highlight: A Spark of Everyday Inspiration

What started as a simple wish to make it easier for my colleague to grab a tissue
unexpectedly turned into a little “water flow design” moment 💦.

With an old and broken garden sprinkler,
I transformed it into a garden-style toilet roll holder 🚿🧻 —
perfectly placed next to the sink, where even the air feels more creative 🌿.

Sometimes, inspiration doesn’t need to be searched for.
It simply flows naturally from everyday life.
