THIS WEEKEND!
Postmodern Playpen presents: The Paperbag Princess by Robert Munsch, adapted by Alissa Watson at The Hive Studios, Kennedy Town.

"From the stunning handmade props and costumes to the incredible detail—especially the canvas costume materials that truly deliver that classic paper feel—the whole production is a visual treat. The lighting was gorgeous, the use of sound was thrilling, and the acting was perfection.

Talent was overflowing on that stage. Kids were thoroughly engaged from start to finish. Even the staff enjoyed the show immensely.
A fun, heartfelt experience for all ages."

Ludri Kay Gelderbloem, Drama teacher at Singapore International School

The Paper Bag Princess

Presented by Postmodern Playpen, based on the classic story by Robert Munsch (Canada's #1 Storyteller) and brilliantly adapted by Alissa Watson, this is a tale for audiences aged 3 to 300, and on tour in Asia for the very first time!

Featuring hand-painted costumes, this staging of The Paper Bag Princess is an incredible celebration of the world's favourite contemporary fairytale. ✨

The Paper Bag Princess is a beloved tale that follows Princess Elizabeth's remarkable journey of courage, wit, and self-discovery. When a dragon destroys her castle land captures Prince Ronald, Elizabeth embarks on an adventure that challenges traditional fairy tale expectations.

Princess Elizabeth is…
Adaptable in the face of adversity, even when the dragon burns down her castle.
Respectful, even while wearing a paper bag!
Empathetic when she learns that the dragon kidnapped the prince.
A collaborator and the prince’s equal, as she goes to rescue him!
A thinker when she solves the mystery of how to find the dragon’s cave.
A communicator who uses her persuasive skills to outwit the dragon.
Ethical, because she speaks up for the environment when nobody else does.
Resilient, even when the prince rejects her.
Princess Elizabeth is the HERO everyone needs to meet!Based on the classic story by Robert Munsch (Canada's #1 Storyteller) and brilliantly adapted by Alissa Watson, this is a tale for audiences aged 3 to 300, and on tour in Asia for the very first time!
