Legendary Japanese film composer Joe Hisaishi’s music transcends traditional movie scores, touching the lives of millions of fans around the world. Brahms’s final symphony bridges the Classical and Romantic eras, and has endured in the hearts of music lovers for over 140 years.

✨🎹兩晚貝多芬，兩場難忘的音樂盛宴 🎹✨Two unforgettable nights of Beethoven

上周末，法國鋼琴家紀弗朗與港樂攜手呈獻貝多芬五部鋼琴協奏曲全集，連續兩晚自彈自指，帶領觀眾走進貝多芬豐富的音樂世界。

▪️ 5月22日，紀弗朗演繹第二至第四鋼琴協奏曲。鋼琴與樂團之間時而輕盈靈動，時而深沉內斂，帶領觀眾沉浸於貝多芬不斷變化的情感世界。

▪️ 5月23日以明亮的第一鋼琴協奏曲揭開序幕；下半場的《帝皇》鋼琴協奏曲將全場氣氛推向高峰，交響與鋼琴華彩交織碰撞，贏得全場熱烈掌聲。

一連兩天，紀弗朗為觀眾送上驚喜encore：「月光」奏鳴曲第一樂章及《給愛麗絲》，他以精湛的音樂詮釋，為最耳熟能詳的旋律重新賦予新生命。演出在他細膩的收尾中畫下完美句點，讓全場觀眾讚嘆難忘。

Over the weekend, François-Frédéric Guy joined the HK Phil to perform and conduct all five Beethoven piano concertos across two extraordinary evenings. We were proud to collaborate with Guy on this ambitious project, a rare chance for musicians and audience members alike to experience the full breadth of Beethoven’s musical world.

▪️On 22 May, Guy performed the Second, Third, and Fourth concertos. What began as sparkling exchanges between piano and orchestra developed into the introspective themes of the Fourth Concerto, revealing Beethoven’s constantly evolving emotional landscape.

▪️On 23 May, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 1 opened the evening with the zest and cheekiness of Beethoven’s youthful brilliance. The monumental “Emperor” Concerto brought the weekend to a triumphant close with thrilling orchestral power and dazzling virtuosity.

Each evening, François-Frédéric Guy delighted audiences with surprise encores: the first movement of the “Moonlight” Sonata and Für Elise. He transformed even the most well-known pieces with his exquisite musicianship, bringing each evening to a beautifully fitting close and leaving the entire hall with a lingering feeling of admiration and awe.

🎹 Tonight and Saturday evening, the HK Phil is joined by renowned French pianist François‑Frédéric Guy, performing and conducting all five Beethoven piano concertos. Over the next two days, audiences have the rare opportunity to trace Beethoven's full journey from youthful virtuoso to mature visionary symphonist.

德國指揮家山德靈帶領樂團排練李察．史特勞斯的《查拉圖斯特拉如是說》，主持蕭樹勝深入淺出地講解曲目，讓觀眾更了解這首受哲學啟發的交響詩。

此系列公開綵排活動費用全免，旨在讓觀眾親身體驗樂團的運作模式，並觀賞港樂音樂會的幕後花絮。每一場都是獨一無二的機會，能見證指揮與樂團的互動交流，深入了解專業音樂家如何賦予樂譜生命，精煉當中細節，化成精彩演出。

“Swire Music For Everyone Series: Strauss Also sprach Zarathustra” offered audiences an inspiring open rehearsal on Thursday morning! German conductor Michael Sanderling leads the HK Phil in rehearsing Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra. With insightful and captivating commentary from presenter Jimmy Shiu, the audience gained a deeper understanding of this philosophy-inspired symphonic poem.

These free open rehearsals offer a unique opportunity to experience the HK Phil's rehearsal process, witnessing firsthand how conductor and musicians collaborate, refine details, and build a performance from the ground up.
