RAYWONGstudio 香港原型師 RAY.WONG 分享作品及製作過程的專頁 WONG work as full time sculptor. He has been a part time sculptor since 1997 at the age of 13.

RAY.WONG在香港土生土長,自小醉心文藝復興美術丶深受電影特技丶日本動漫影響。由1997年開始參加公開比賽,繼而成立工作室至今,作品風格多元,合作過多間公司丶授權製作推出產品。
近年以西遊記桌遊眾籌成功,作品走訪歐美。

Born and grew up in Hong Kong, RAY. His motivations concerning for sculpting were from the beginning based on his passion at Renaissance period (Michael Angelo), animation and movie SFX. His work is in both private and mass production around the local art/toy industry.

Rako —— 靈煙・霧定

「以泥塑煙，以煙聚靈。」
在動靜之間，尋回不動如山的平靜。

陶瓷將無形的煙，凝固成守護的姿態。
深灰藏於溝紋，是心的深淵；
灰白覆於肌理，是靈的初相。
當塔香點燃，煙霧隨 Rako 的線條升騰、
有形與無形在此交融。

Rako — Spirit & Smoke
If woodcarving is time frozen,
ceramics are smoke sculpted into a form of protection.
Deep grey nestled in the grooves: the abyss of the heart.
Soft white brushed on the surface: the primal form of the spirit.
As the incense cone ignites, smoke ascends and drapes over Rako’s contours—
where the tangible meets the intangible.
“Sculpting smoke from clay; gathering spirit through smoke.”

製作這隻Super Trooper 還原1978年電影道具製作。
當中細節、製作過程同組裝穿着，都是歷史還原。
技術含量比較高，
當中除咗盔甲、金屬皮革布料⋯製作需要挑戰同學習克服嘢好多，
特別鳴謝好友、 尤其阿哥同阿爸全力支持同幫忙製作。

Production This Super Trooper restores the 1978 movie prop production.
In which the details, the production process and the assembly wear, are historical restorations.
The technical content is relatively high, and there are many things to overcome
Which, in addition to armor, metallic leather fabrics...making requires a lot of challenges and learning.
Special thanks to my friends, especially my brother and father for their full support and help in production.

幸好自己的職能上都可以發揮。

I’ve always wanted to sculpt human proportions.

I’ve always wanted to challenge myself with Hollywood prop making.

I’ve always wanted to work with top-notch artists and pursue my dreams. All three wishes have come true, and I’m even more satisfied than the finished product itself!

Fortunately, I was able to utilize my skills in this project !

Thank you to 501st Legion Hong Kong Garrison for the invitation to create illustrations for their 20th anniversary celebration, which were also exhibited alongside other local artists at the first ComicCon Hong Kong.

Many thanks to everyone in Hong Kong for their support. The arrangements were chaotic, but everyone was incredibly understanding. The exchange with everyone on the day was invaluable!

適逢StarWarsDay 想分享一下這兩套心頭好。因為外傳之中特別偏愛《Rogue One》，當年決定動手挑戰Shore Trooper、Tank Trooper
全套由泥模及膠片手工製作。比起現成品，親手揼出來的溫度與滿足感才是最真實的～

With upon us, I wanted to share these two personal favorites. Since Rogue One is my absolute favorite among the spin-offs, I decided to take on the challenge of building the Shoretrooper and Tank Trooper armors.
Both sets were handcrafted from scratch using clay molds and plastic sheets. Compared to off-the-shelf replicas, there’s a unique warmth and sense of satisfaction that only comes from building it with your own two hands.
