一個人共舞 Solo Together

編舞的話 Notes from Choreographer

這是一個關於擴展與轉化的實驗、遊戲、與內在戰爭。

不停地做決定，不停地要有新想法，拆解了一個卡位，興奮了不夠一會兒，另一些難題馬上出現。在排練室用左腦，回家用右腦；不夠到位的東西重做幾次，直到作品變成我們喜歡的様子。

感謝每一位獨舞員的耐性與毅力，並以最開放的心態跟我相處。這個過程對他們的腦袋與身體而言都是大挑戰，感謝他們願意被我拆開再找方法合番埋（sorry呢幾個字一定要用廣東話），希望觀眾都會看見並欣賞他們的努力及轉化。

忠於自己的動機，强化頭腦與心的信念。用獨一無二的身體，忠實而無畏地玩自己的遊戲。

This project is an experimentation, a game and an internal struggle. It is all about expansion, extension and transformation.

Making decisions non-stop, keeping offering fresh ideas. I experienced short-term excitement after smoothening some blockages as more challenges kept coming. Using the left brain inside the studio, using the right brain when I continue to work at home. Repeat, repeat and repeat…… we polish the imperfections until we like it as it is now.

My sincere thanks to all soloists for their patience and endurance. Thanks for collaborating together with a free and open mind. This has been a great challenge to both their brains and their bodies. I appreciate their willingness to be dissected by me for an alternative reconstruction. I hope audiences share the same appreciation and love their effort and transformation.

Staying true to the original intention and strengthening the faith in both the brain and the heart, we are being courageous and playing our own games genuinely with our unique bodies.

Carmen SOLO TOGETHER with Justyne about「雙魚座」

Justyne說老早就跟Carmen決定以「雙魚座」為題，她上升星座是雙魚，30歲之後她愈來愈察覺自己受這多變水相的狀態影響，跟太陽星座是雙魚的Carmen合作，她們在開發從盤骨至脊椎流動性的動律。目前舞蹈的質感有種蠱蠱惑惑的感覺，肢體線條是安靜而流動，但當中會有些突變，是沉浸的精神性的經驗。

Carmen形容她的獨舞是「舒服！好玩！」

她想令觀賞者可以從她的形體動態上連結到想像，「佢係一樣嘢」。帶動觀賞者的思緒而非只是乖乖地觀看一場「跳舞演出」，這樣才有趣。而對於她作為獨舞者，她最想能夠每一場都好好享受台上只有我一個人的感覺便已足夠。

Carmen SOLO TOGETHER with Justyne about “The Pisces”

Justyne confirmed “The Pisces” with Carmen at the very beginning of the creative process. Justyne’s Rising is Pisces while Carmen’s Sun is also Pisces. They explore the fluidity and adaptability in both physical and mental qualities. Carmen initiates movements flowing from the hip along the spine, showing a bit of cunning with her limbs floating in a peaceful river and some abrupt interventions.

Carmen describes her solo as comfortable and enjoyable.

She hopes to provoke audiences’ imagination with her physical movements and audiences not passively consuming her dance. As a soloist, she wishes to enjoy the ultimate experience of only herself dancing on the stage.

康 SOLO TOGETHER with Justyne about 「動力 / 西西弗斯」

Justyne說一開始跟康談Who am I? 身體究竟是甚麼？對於思維縝密的康來說，應該可以暢談好長時間。其後，他們一起實驗關於momentum的可能 - 較早期是一個「純物理」的切入點，實驗重心轉移及其產生下一個的身體形態。他們最近將對「動力」的探索與希臘神話中西西弗斯的故事連結，山坡及石頭的重量產生的的「動力」似乎在提示這種看似永無止境的失敗，所產生的其實只是重複又重複的動律。

康形容他的獨舞是流動，起伏跌宕，像坐過山車一樣。不斷的happening，就好似BB仔由呱呱落地，生命就不斷地發生。他經過借編舞的眼睛去觀看自己同探索身體的過程，發掘，分析，歸納，重組，發展自己身體同動律，讓身體更生動、流暢、準確、透明去表達自己。

Hong SOLO TOGETHER with Justyne on “Momentum / Sisyphus”

Justyne embarked on a philosophical dialogue with Hong asking “Who am I?”, “What is a body?”. With a sophisticated mind, Hong could have elaborated those in a ten thousand words essay but as dance artists, they then began the exploration of momentum - pure physicality, the potentiality of sudden stop, storing of energy, etc. They recently combine this physical exploration to the punishment on Sisyphus in Greek mythology - condemnation of an eternal rolling of a boulder uphill. This endless failure is actually reflected in the momentum of repetitive actions in the choreography.

Hong describes his solo as a flow with ups and downs like riding a rollercoaster. With a lot of happenings from baby to the present life, he dances all the ongoing experiences. Through the eyes of the choreographer, he explores, analyses, organizes and reorganizes his body and movements, with a hope to express himself more vividly, transparently and accurately.
