Is four years the charm? Looks like it ✨

That’s exactly what Lokah felt when our wonderful dancers, our lovely girls and one amazing boy, brought home first prizes in both the 6–10 and 10–14 classical dance categories at the IAC Arts Competition!

While not all of us won, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits, every performance was a step forward, filled with learning and passion 💛

This post may be a little late, but the joy, energy, and aura of that win are still very much alive, continuing to inspire us to grow and refine our art 💫

At Lokah, we seek reasons to celebrate art. Last Vijayadashmi our annual Pooja was taken up a notch. The Aarti was beautiful, the collective members shined and we dedicated our art to Devi 🙏🏼 Art has no boundaries or walls and we had invited other fellow artists from Hong Kong to join us. Lokah’s first international performance was in 2023, just two years after we kicked off our Bharatanatyam journey in Hong Kong. We performed at the revered Guruvayoor temple in Kerala, India. A stage where the GOATS have performed, a place where every member of the audience is an art lover and critic and an atmosphere where divinity is seeping in every molecule. So glad that we could submit our art as our token of devotion on this revered stage.

This was also the first time our collective members got to experience the magic of authentic Bharatanatyam makeup. Though we all had to wake up 3.00 AM and get started on it, it was such a magical time of togetherness that, it will be forever etched in Lokah’s memory. Some pics from our make-up dairies…
