2020 has been a strange year. It can feel like we are being constantly overwhelmed by bad news. In these moments, it’s important to reserve time and space to process thoughts and emotions.

2020年是奇怪的一年。感覺就像我們一直被壞消息淹沒。在這些日子，重要的是要留出時間和空間來處理思想和情感。

「相比起創作有史以來最有型的外星人，我更想畫出可以令人感到驚喜的牛油果。」

Matthew 金卓瑋是香港的插畫家，目前居於洛杉磯。他著迷於饒富想像力的點子及看似平凡的地方的獨特美，並透過作品將生活日常事物轉化為具個人魅力的視覺和情感表達。近期的疫情實在令人苦惱。Matthew 在過去一年的獨處生活創作了一系列作品反映了自身的隔離經歷。

GAZE 製作了「How’s (Quarantine) Life」選集，以Matthew 的插畫敍述疫情肆虐之下，生活方式被迫作出的改變。它既是個人的故事，亦是大眾共同面對的苦惱。選集融合了日常與想像的場景—讓觀者穿梭於洛杉磯和藝術家的精神空間之間。

「If it’s between inventing the coolest alien ever or to draw an avocado in a way that makes you go oh hello, I will go for the avocado.」

Matthew Kam Cheuk Wai is an illustrator from Hong Kong currently living in Los Angeles. He is intrigued by imaginative ideas and the beauty of seemingly mundane places. Through his works, the everyday scenes are translated into authentic visual and emotional expressions. The latest pandemic has been painful for all lives. In a year of solidarity, Kam has produced a selection of works reflective of his personal quarantine experience. By blending the everyday scene with the imaginary - viewers’ eyes travel between real sites of LA and his mental landscapes in the “How’s (Quarantine) Life” selections .

文字創作者隨想為《From Dawn Till Dusk》展覽創作左一個由十個段落組成的故事。佢刻意打亂時序，並通過不斷轉換敘事視角，令人物的互動編織出一幅生動的都市生活圖景。
