More examples of the wonderful work submitted by the students attending the From Player to Page Event: Hull in February 2026.

Those students attending the Guided Gaming session experienced a selection of games that explored loneliness, dystopian futures, and authoritarian societies. The ideas from those games were picked up and used by pupils in their own creative pieces, and included in today's post are some summaries of the works by students in Luke Hebblethwaite's group.

Another story synopses drop from the From Player to Page Event!

Several students were lucky enough to join the writer's workshop led by Ayesha Khan who delivered a really informative session about the different considerations to make when crafting a game plot of your own. Many students took environmental, character and plot inspiration from the Guided Gaming experience, and we are really proud to include some of their outlines here.

For the students from Beverley Grammar School, Wolfreton School & Sixth Form and Oakfield Field School, a huge well done for creating some truly exciting pieces of writing!

We had some fantastic examples of video game-inspired writing from students that joined the From Player to Page Events literacy and games event last week in Hull.

All hand written and authentic, we made a few examples of the great work by creating short synopses of the pieces submitted, and the first batch we'd like to show off are those by students from Grammar School who were part of Corey Brotherson's writing group. Brilliant work allπŸ™Œ

What a couple days we just had! From Player to Page 2026 at the University of Hull used video games in a whole new way, and we - myself, the industry writers, the team at the university and, of course, the more than 70 students who joined - had an absolute blast!

Commenting on things you know well sounds like it should be easy...right? Well, there are many other things to consider when trying to keep an audience interested in the different ideas and thoughts of your own.

We went to Ollie Coe - a Playdate developer and creator of the game Life's 2 Short: Unhooked - to get his thoughts on what would make a great review and to provide those entering the FPTP competition some tips as to how and what to do to compose the BEST review possible.

Thanks again to Ollie and the best of luck to all of YOU entering the review writing category!
