SW Peloponnese welcomes the first international mountain bike race that will be held from 11 to 13 October 2013. Professional and amateur cyclists will now have another reason to travel and visit this region with the untouched and diverse landscape, as the “Navarino Bike Festival” will be an ideal way to explore the rich countryside. Navarino Bike Festival aims to establish SW Peloponnese as an in
ternational biking destination, for both professional and amateur sport lovers, highlighting at the same time Greece’s natural beauty. On October 12th the “Open Race” of “Navarino Bike Festival” will be held with the participation of amateur cyclists, in which people of all ages can take part and “speed up” in an ideal cycling route. On October 13th the “International Cross Country Race” will be held with the participation of professional cyclists. This specific race has been included in the international calendar of bike racing, by the International Cycling Union (UCI). This international mountain bike race takes place with the support of Costa Navarino, the prime sustainable destination in the Mediterranean. During the Navarino Bike Festival all guests and participants will be introduced to the region’s cultural heritage, through a series of social and cultural events and activities that will highlight the Messinian history, traditions and culture, throughout the Festival. - Family Tour: Visit the natural highlight of the area: The Voidokilia beach and spot the Flamingos in the Gialova Lagoon
