There was a moment during our Taoist Book Club that kept returning again and again.
As we reflected on the teachings, I found myself asking,
“Where do you feel that in your body?”
And something shifted.
The conversation moved beyond ideas.
Beyond interpretation.
Beyond trying to understand the Tao with the mind alone.
It became an embodied experience.
The Tao isn’t something we accumulate more knowledge about.
It is something we remember.
Not as a memory of the mind,
but as a quiet recognition that arises when the body softens, the breath deepens, and awareness becomes present.
This is why I practice Tai Chi.
Each movement invites me to become a little less forceful.
A little more receptive.
A little more available to the wisdom that has been here all along.
The Tao is not somewhere else.
It is here.
Now.
Alive within each breath, each step, each moment we are willing to inhabit fully.
✨ Where do you feel most connected to yourself—in movement, stillness, nature, or somewhere else? I’d love to hear below.
