Euripides Laskaridis presents TOURNE, a tragicomic performance infused with sharp humour and self-irony, inspired by the world of travelling theatre companies and summer tours, with all its contrasts and contradictions.

The journey continues at the Ancient Stadium, which opens its gates to the public at night for the very first time. There, Dimitris Kamarotos presents “(Alcestis) Landscape after the Promise”, a midnight sonic experience in which voice, strings and electronic sounds come together to create a landscape of transition in the darkness.

FROM GRAPE AND THE SHOWCASE TO SYSTEMA

SYSTEMA—a joint initiative of three institutional partners, with exclusive sponsorship by Mastercard and the National Bank of Greece—is built upon the strong international foundations of grape — Greek Agora of Performance (2023–2025) by the Athens Epidaurus Festival and the Showcase (2023–2025) by the National Theatre of Greece, in strategic collaboration with the Kalamata International Dance Festival. Together, they open new pathways for artists around the world.

Within this spirit of collaboration, during the event, the Artistic Director of the Athens Epidaurus Festival, Michail Marmarinos, spoke of a “gesture of partnership” with the character of cultural policy, while the Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Greece, Argyro Chioti, referred to the power of meaningful collaborations to open new perspectives. For her part, the Artistic Director of the Kalamata International Dance Festival, Tzeni Argyriou, emphasized the importance of this partnership for the international promotion of Greek artistic production.

The initiative is consistently supported by Mastercard, which has been backing the international outreach of Greek performing arts since the launch of grape in 2023. From 2024 to 2025, together with the National Bank of Greece, they served as exclusive sponsors of the initiative, and this support continues this year through SYSTEMA.

In the same context, Eleftheria Volioti, Director, Head of Cards Division at the National Bank of Greece, spoke about the ongoing support of initiatives that promote Greek performing arts internationally, while Sonia Heimona, Marketing Director of Mastercard for Greece, Cyprus, and Malta, highlighted the power of culture to create meaningful experiences and bring people closer together.

We are transported to the biblical land of Cain’s exile—a place of doomed wandering and oblivion, where even God’s gaze has withdrawn. Two men—nearly identical, like brothers—meet there to traverse once more the bleak cycle of the human condition, shedding a brutal light on the cruel legacy of the mark of Cain and all that it reveals about our common predicament.

Anonymous and unmoored from memory, the two men who meet in this land lay bare the relentless – and at times bleak – cycle of human existence: from love to violence, from closeness to rupture, from union to murder, from Cain and Abel to us.

TONIGHT – AΦTER | TELEVISIO



Based in Athens, Televisio craft a rhythmic, atmospheric sound shaped by influences from 1970s Anadolu funk and the aesthetics of trip hop. Blending melodic and rhythmic elements from the East with contemporary arrangements and production, their music moves effortlessly between groove and cinematic, evocative soundscapes. The band has recently completed the recording of its debut album, which will be released soon.

How does one of the greatest philosophers in history choose to narrate his own life?

Plato stands on stage and addresses us. Through the voice of a narrator, he returns as both an enigma and a spectre, breaking the fourth wall and collapsing the distance that separates us from him – and from the politically unstable world he inhabited.

The Seventh Letter is one of Plato’s few non-dialogical works, a monologue in which the philosopher finally speaks to us in the first person. But what does he choose to recount? The reckonings of a towering thinker who reaches the dusk of life not as a great sage or omniscient figure, but as someone human and confessional, having endured every disillusionment of the mortal coil – while no ideal Republic awaits him at journey’s end.

Voices of the Arab world | “Badke(remix)” by Palestinian artists Amir Sabra and Ata Khatab revisits the language of tradition and gives it a new turn, attuned to the urgencies of the present.

At the helm of a “wedding band” in the West Bank, Nasser Al Fares constructs an ambivalent sonic landscape where joy and ache coexist. Between musical passages, he addresses members of the audience he recognises, greeting them and making casual announcements. Throughout the unfolding “celebration,” sirens, drones, and children’s cries intermittently pierce the air. Are these documentary traces, or echoes drawn from the dancers’ memory?

Beyond the rigid lines of borders – geographical and cultural – it sends out signals to any willing receiver, advocating for a shared, transnational sense of belonging.

6th Athens Festival Urban Dance Contest | Internationally Acclaimed Artists, Exclusive Workshops and the Return of Athens' Street Dance Scene to Peiraios 260!

The contest returns with even more spectacular dance battles and two nights packed with energy, rhythm and talent. Dancer and choreographer Ilias Chatzigeorgiou, together with his long-time collaborator Periklis Petrakis, curate the event, bringing some of the finest Greek and international hip hop and street dancers into the spotlight.

Join us on 20 June at the city's most restless cultural hotspot!
WORKSHOPS:�On 20 June, a free hip hop dance workshop for teenagers will be led by Elias Chatzigeorgiou and Periklis Petrakis. The workshop is open to participants with or without previous dance experience.
On 21 June, two specialised hip hop and street dance workshops will be led by internationally acclaimed artists from the hip hop scene, appearing in Athens for the first time: Anna Donati (Anna Beat) and Fabrice Labrana (Fabbreezy).

Jaha Koo serves bittersweet and surreal micro-stories on stage, through symbolic characters who explore food as shelter and identity as an ongoing negotiation.
