Guadeloupe July 2010, Tysmé released his debut album entitled Zayanntifik (Ziontific), fruit of his passion for Hip Hop, rhyming and music in general. In the mid-90s, Tysmé and his acolytes, "Karukera Crew" (K.C) set the foundations of the Zayanntifik concept. At that time, Zayanntifik was a concept that the MC's used to define themselves as practitioners of a discipline that they considered linke
d to mathematical sciences. Indeed, the metric writing of some members of the K.C, coupled with beatmaker's Exxòs, Phonie and Star Jee quaternary rhythms allowed them to develop an "Art-Science" which had been improved by a common scientific curriculum at school and somehow they adopted the neologism of Zayanntifik. Fifteen years later, Zayanntifik is more than a concept and has become a genuine state of mind. Having left Guadeloupe for further studies in mainland France, far from their homeland, the members of K.C further ripened their "Art-Science ". It was also during this form of exile that the concept of Zayann , part of the concept since its genesis, gradually took shape. Undeniably, the distance, the nostalgia and homesickness evoked by their stay in France had somehow been an inspiration to them. Images of their country's flourishing vegetation rarely left their minds. Thus in 2002 the song "Mè Nati", on Star Jee's & Exxòs's album "Woch, Goumé A Vié Nèg", appeared and was probably the first Hip Hop track in history talking about respect for the environment. Upon returning to his homeland, Tysmé's took a fresh look at his island. His reflection on the island's evolution after nine years of absence and his reunion with Caribbean nature would of course feed his writing. His new rhymes steadily lead some of his relatives to call Tysmé "Zayanntifik". Exxòs MètKakola, producer of several tracks and director of the overall arrangements of the album, played a major role in the choice of the album title, which is not a reflection of its content according to Tysmé, despite his increasing technical writing form. The most curious music lovers will have to await the release of the solo album of Exxòs MètKakola, to get a musical definition of Zayanntifik on the eponymous track featuring the chemistry of the dynamic trio Tysmé, Nèg Madnick and Exxòs MètKakola. Nowadays Zayanntifik is slowly becoming an ideology based on the idea of putting science at the service of environmental protection. An ideology inspired by the Rastafarian philosophy deeply rooted in Hip Hop culture...
