📍Avatime Amedzofe

Avatime Amedzofe is the highest human settlement in Ghana, located in the Ho West District of the Volta Region. Nestled in the mountains, the town is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, cool climate, and natural attractions, including Mount Gemi and the beautiful Ote Falls.
Avatime Amedzofe also holds significant historical importance, having played a role during the 19th-century Anglo-Ashanti Wars. The town is home to the Amedzofe Training School, established in 1880 by German missionaries, and the oldest Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church in the Avatime Traditional Area, which was built by the Germans in 1889.
With its rich history, pleasant weather, and stunning landscape, Avatime Amedzofe remains one of Ghana’s most remarkable mountain communities..
