Black History Month reminds us that powerful women have always challenged the systems that tried to limit them.
Ama Ata Aidoo was one of those women. A Ghanaian writer, thinker, and feminist voice who used her words to demand space, dignity, and equality — especially for African women. She showed us that education, creativity, and economic independence are forms of power.
At our NGO, we believe the same.
When women earn their own income, when they master their craft, when they support their families and communities — that is empowerment in action.
The seamstresses we work with in Ghana are not just creating beautiful pieces.
They are building independence.
They are building confidence.
They are building futures.
This Black History Month, we celebrate women who speak up, who create, who lead — and who rise. 💜💚🧡
