The Blue Food Innovation Hub team, led by Miss Lawrencia Kwansah, engaged with JICA Ghana in a strategic meeting focused on strengthening collaboration around innovation and sustainable development.

The delegation was warmly received by Ms. Aizu Naho of JICA and Mr. Stephen Kwame Ferrar, Program Specialist for Agriculture at JICA.

Discussions explored the Blue Food Innovation Hub and its core activities, including the accelerator programme, finance clinics, and knowledge exchange initiatives. The Lead emphasized the broader context of innovation hubs in Ghana, noting that while several hubs exist across the country, the Blue Food Innovation Hub stands as the first of its kind dedicated specifically to the blue economy, with a strong focus on aquaculture.

JICA also shared insights on incubator programmes, including their structure and technical operations, and highlighted their involvement in a few initiatives supporting the regulatory framework of Ghana’s fisheries and aquaculture sector.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing a shared commitment to continuous collaboration and a mutual intention to foster stronger linkages between innovation hubs to drive impact across the ecosystem.
