The magic is always in the micro-details. 🔍✨
For this stage, I extended the smoky vignette background over to the right side. Doing this completely isolates the silhouette of the head and allows those tiny, single strands of hair at the edge to naturally pop against the negative space. It’s all about patience, value mapping, and precision. ✍🏾🔥
Trusting the process as the right side begins to fully lock into place. 📐

True mastery is pushing your boundaries when you’re already comfortable. For this new project, I decided to challenge my own workflow. Instead of drawing a preliminary outline, I am shading directly onto the paper using geometric isolation and precise value mapping to let the features emerge organically.
