A statue of the head of a security and investigative institution was designed, built, transported, mounted, covered, and unveiled within the premises of that same institution, yet we are told she had no knowledge of it until the unveiling.
To make it even more interesting, she appeared genuinely surprised, shouting and reacting as though she was seeing it for the first time. Many people found that difficult to believe.
As the head of the institution, one would expect awareness of such a major development on the premises. It also raises the question of what extraordinary achievement warranted a statue at a public institution while the beneficiary is still in office.
For many Ghanaians, moments like this reflected misplaced priorities and a growing disconnect from the realities facing ordinary citizens.
