Ghana says it will take stronger action against TV stations that show Nigerian movies without permission.

The promise came after Nollywood producer Uchenna Mbunabo accused some TV stations in Ghana of downloading Nigerian movies from YouTube and showing them on television for free without paying or getting permission.

James Gardiner, the Deputy CEO of Ghana’s National Film Authority (NFA), admitted that this has been a problem for a long time.

He said the NFA is now working with other government agencies to stop it.
