Shatta Wale's Yellow & Blue Fit Causes Stir Online - Fans Troll Him As "Blue Band Ambassador"
By SAAS TV Entertainment Desk | September 6, 2026
Ghanaian dancehall king Shatta Wale is trending again, but this time it's not for a new song or a fight - it's for his fashion.
The SM boss was spotted at the airport on September 3rd, rocking a loud yellow and royal blue tracksuit with matching yellow and blue sneakers, dark shades, and his signature big Shatta Wale chain pendant.
The tracksuit is from AROUND, a local Ghanaian streetwear brand owned by his brother Pl***oy Holali. Sources close to the star say Shatta Wale wore it deliberately to push his brother's brand and support Made-in-Ghana. He later captioned one of the photos, praising local brands.
But Ghanaians on social media saw something else.
THE BLUE BAND JOKE
Within hours, the colour combination sparked a meme frenzy. The yellow and blue is identical to the packaging of Blue Band Original margarine, a household product every Ghanaian knows.
Fans and bloggers started trolling:
"Brand ambassador for Blue Band, buy one get one free!"
"Blue Band Academy uniform"
"Shatta Wale x Blue Band collab"
One viral TikTok video shows a market woman holding a Blue Band container with Blue Band sachets around her neck, comparing it side-by-side with Shatta's outfit.
Entertainment critic Bongo Ideas added fuel, posting Shatta's airport photo with a sarcastic review: "Drip is on point... colour resembles Blue Band Butter, Waya App and Hotwav phones... Solid 2/10" - a post that has since gathered over 8k reactions and hundreds of comments.
SM FANS TURN IT INTO UNIFORM
Instead of backing down, the Shatta Movement fans embraced it.
Since September 4th, dozens of groups of young men across Accra, Kumasi and even in villages have been spotted wearing the same yellow and blue tracksuit, posing in formation with SM hand signs. One viral group photo of 5 men in the outfit was captioned "We Are Shatta Movement. Comment With Your Yellow Blue Picture"
A female fan also went viral modelling a biker-short version of the same tracksuit.
For many, it has become a symbol of loyalty. "We love how Shatta Wale uses his influence to support local brands," one fan wrote.
WHAT'S NEXT?
As of today, Shatta Wale has not officially responded to the Blue Band jokes, but he continues to wear the tracksuit in new photos, suggesting he is unbothered.
It is important to note that despite the memes, Shatta Wale has NOT signed any ambassadorial deal with Blue Band. His known ambassadorial deals remain with Storm Energy Drink and EXIM Bank's Made-in-Ghana campaign.
Whether you love it or troll it, one thing is clear - the "Blue Band tracksuit" has become the most talked-about fashion item in Ghana this week.
What do you think? Is the fit drippy or too loud? Drop your yellow blue photo in the comments.
