I don't know what hurts more,
holding on to these memories
or letting them go...
I'm a puzzle,
And I wish I could forget you
without having to feel like
I'm losing a piece of myself.
I hold on to these memories
because, letting them go
means none of that really
mattered at all,
But they mattered to me.
But having to hold on to
these memories is like
pressing on broken glass,
nothing sharp enough to bleed
just enough to bruise my soul
You said "deep down" you cared,
"deep down" you love me...
But I realized there was no "deep
down"
You were all just the things you do
You never cared and you never
loved me...
So here I am—
stuck between what was,
and what never really was at all.
