A portal's opened to the new introductory experience at Jorvik Viking Centre. Realtime media technology recreates a 10th century blacksmith's workshop, based on archaeological finds at Coppergate. Bright White are proud to be working with the JORVIK team, York Archaeology, Big Farmer, Laced and Keywords Studios on this time traveling portal experience!

The Snickelways project. Illustrations by our wonderful young and talented team member Becky Boyes-Major. Many thanks to The York BID for involving us in this important project to remind residents of these hidden snickelway gems and interpret the street names.

It's hoped the project could revive footfall in York's network of narrow passageways.

Can you be our Marketing and Communications Consultant? AHI has a need to inspire, engage and connect. Not only with its membership, but also those who work in natural and built heritage, who may not know they carry out heritage interpretation. The AHI want to promote good practice and expand its reach and membership. To help achieve this, we need to expand and develop our marketing, communication and our reach across social media networks, and the content that we publish.

We are looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional to help us create and implement a content, marketing and communications plan.

Congratulations to the AHI - a wonderful achievement.

We are celebrating our actual 50th Anniversary today!

The very first meeting of the Society for the Interpretation of Britain’s Heritage (SIBH), what would become AHI, took place on 9 April 1975 in Caxton Hall, London.

What a long way we’ve come since then! Reflecting on our journey, we are proud of the of the impact we’ve made in our mission to inspire, engage and connect people with heritage in the UK, Ireland and beyond.

A big thank you to all our members and supporters now and over the past 50 years. Your support means everything to us. Here’s to many more years supporting everyone within heritage interpretation.

A big thank you also to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, who are supporting us to mark our anniversary with our AHI 50 ‘Interpretation Gold’ Projects.
