You may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently as I get ready for the contemporary craft and art show this month (June 20-22nd). I’ve been busy getting as many pieces painted as possible over the last few weeks and then this week it was time for my least favourite stage of the ceramic process - GLAZING 😱

Not entirely sure why I dislike glazing so much, the sieving of the mixture to get it ready isn’t exactly the most exciting task but I think it’s the actually dip glazing part I hate. Because I spend so long painting my pieces the thought of all that work getting ruined by me accidentally dropping the pot into the glaze bucket (yes this has happened to me more than once 😅) or damaging it in some other way fills me with so much anxiety I just can’t find any joy in it 🤣 But despite the inevitable stress I managed to get my pieces safely glazed and am praying to the kiln gods 🙏🔥 that they make it out safely!

Thank you so much to everyone that visited my stall at last Sunday and to the wonderful event organisers and staff that make it all possible! It’s such a magical event, and I was honoured to be invited back for my second time ✨ if you missed me this month, I’ll be back on Sunday 3rd August with lots more ceramics and my Seconds & Samples sale! 🫶

I’ll be back at this Sunday for my second ever stall at this wonderful event! My stall will be outside The George Hotel from 10 - 3pm ✨ I am very excited to be back, especially as June’s theme for the market is Pride! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I’ll be flying my flags with pride and am looking forward to celebrating with all the lovely humans attending and participating on Sunday.

I’ll have my Seconds & Samples sale again, so it’ll be a great opportunity to shop my discounted items only available at my in-person events! 🥳 Hope to see you there! 🫶

Paper Tales is an independent book and gift shop located in Sparks Bristol, in Broadmead (Bristol City Centre). If you’re local to Bristol (or planning a visit), it is definitely worth popping into Sparks Bristol and looking around Paper Tales to discover mine and other local makers’ pieces in person and you’ve got the added bonus of helping support a wonderful creative space celebrating independent artists and makers.

I’M SO EXCITED to share that I will be exhibiting at The Great Northern Contemporary Craft & Art Fair in Newcastle this June! 🥳🥳🥳 I also had the absolute honour of having my owl mug photo 🦉 chosen for the poster and a selection of the flyers for the event! 😱 I am so so grateful to be one of the lucky few to have their product photo picked!!

If I’ve been a but quieter on socials and continue to be on the run up to the show it’s because I’m being a busy bee 🐝 getting myself show ready. That being said, I will still be sharing behind the scenes of my making process, daily running of my business and more over the next couple weeks when I can ☺️ but maybe just not quite as much as usual!

I’m a bit late posting this but THANK YOU ALL YOU LOVELY HUMANS that came to my stall at on Sunday April 6th! 🙏 It was such an amazing day, and I truly loved meeting you all! I could not have asked for better weather on my first ever time selling at the The Frome Independent 🌞 though you couldn’t tell from the one photo we managed to get 🤣 as it was still early morning and a bit chilly! 🥶

Happy Trans Day of Visibility to all my trans and non-binary siblings 🏳️‍⚧️ Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility a day to celebrate our existence but also raise awareness of our contributions to society and the discrimination that we face daily for just wanting to live our lives as our authentic selves.

The world is a scary place to exist right now, some places more terrifying than others, with our rights as human beings stolen from us at every opportunity. But we have always existed and we will go on existing, this is who we are and we’re not going anywhere. I want to take this opportunity to remind the world that we don’t just get to be visible for one day, we deserve to be visible, celebrated, respected and treated with dignity every day. Trans rights are human rights ✊🏳️‍⚧️⚧️
