Not sure if these had been actually swimming but they were very energetic. I, on the other hand, was knackered after a lovely time at Thornaby Town Council fair today. Lots sold so thanks everyone who came to have a look. At billingham fair next week. Lots more sewing to do.

I just thought I would show you what I have been making with the fabric I bought recently. It would be lovely to know what children think about these. My grandchildren have been great in telling me what they think. They have all mentioned that they like the handle! And their ideas are so inspiring . One little girl likes to carry her colouring book and crayons in hers and I thought “ what a good idea” it was something I hadn’t thought of but it just shows that even if you are only 4 you can have your own ideas that make us adults think a bit.

With the weather being slightly warmer I started to think about holidays! So I have been out and about with one of my granddaughters today sourcing a couple of fabrics with that in mind. We also came across some designs that I thought slightly older children may like. The quality of all these materials is beautiful so I just had to buy them and am looking forward to making them as soon as I can so watch this space!

As a mum, a granny and a teacher of young children of 35 years, I know that children like to have "things to put things in!". So I have come up with the idea of making padded bags in quality materials, with colourful designs. I have been sewing for 54 years and have a passion to keep this traditional craft alive.

Each one is made slowly, carefully and to what the child or parent wants. Padded and have a perfect handle for little hands, with self closing magnets.

I think its perfect for iPad, tablets or books to be stored away or carried on a car journey, holidays, restaurants, sleepovers, going to grandparents etc
