🔥🔥🔥Beginner Line Dancing Class Heatwave Updates / New Dances🔥🔥🔥

Hi all - we currently have no plans on cancelling any of our classes, however, with the heatwave forecast how it is we will be taking extra measures in all of our classes again this week - Fans / Water/Drinks / Clothing / Breaks.

𖣘🪭Fans - we will have a fan going pointing out at the dance floor at all of our classes this week. If you have your own handheld/neck fans please can you bring them with you as one way of staying cool(er).

💧🥤Water / Drinks - we will have water at or near the sign-in table or on the entrance at our classes for dancers to help themselves to. It is important that you stay more hydrated than usual in the higher temperatures. We will also have cold drinks in the fridges at our Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, New Road, Glyn Ceiriog, Rossett Village Hall and Parish Hall, Chirk, Wrexham classes, with cold drinks being available at the bar for our Cefn Mawr Community Social Club class.

🎽🩳👗Clothing - please come wearing layers that are comfortable for you for the weather. We don't want anyone collapsing from heat exhaustion or because they've got something on that is too hot, heavy or thick. While cowboy shirts and hats are nice to wear for classes, the material for some of them can be thick or heavy. Please come in whatever summer weather appropriate clothing you feel comfortable dancing in BUT please do not turn up in flip flops or other similar loose footwear as this is not safe for line dancing.

🥱 Breaks - we will take additional breaks as and when they are needed, please just flag up if you know you or the group need an extra break. Remember, most of the time my back is to you, and regardless of how handy it would be I can't see behind me when instructing and dancing --- so make sure I know.

That aside, we should still have a good time and I look forward to seeing you at the classes this week:

Tuesday 7-9pm - Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, New Road, Glyn Ceiriog
Wednesday 12-2pm - Cefn Mawr Community Social Club
Wednesday 7:30-9:30pm - Rossett Village Hall
Thursday 12-2pm - Parish Hall, Chirk, Wrexham

All K's Kicks Line Dancing classes are suitable for beginners and absolute beginners. Monday classes need to be pre-booked directly on the ATIF gym website; all other classes can be paid on the door at £5 per person (children half price when dancing with parent/guardian).

New dances at our beginner line dancing classes this week (from 15th June). We have classes at all five of our locations this week - that's right 5(!) as we had new location Cefn Mawr Community Social Club come on board with their new class starting tomorrow:

We kicked off the week with a great class at Aspire to inspire fitness ladies only gym in Mold with new teach Twenty Two (22). Booking is essential for this class as it fills up quick but there is a waitlist. Booking has to be made via the gym website.

Tuesday EVENING - tonight we are back at Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, New Road, Glyn Ceiriog 7-9pm with new teach Rockin' The Wagon Wheel and going back over our dances from our first week.

Wednesday AFTERNOON - this week is our first class at Cefn Mawr Community Social Club with the class taking place 12-2pm. This is a great point to join us as all teaches will be new full teaches, including Shirts and Skirts, Stand By Me, and the fun party style Islands in the Stream, along with other fun beginner dances.

Wednesday EVENING - this week at Rossett Village Hall we have new teach Choosin' Texas. We're dancing 7:30-9:30pm

Thursday AFTERNOON - 12-2pm at Parish Hall, Chirk, Wrexham - our new teach this week is A Bar Song, and we will be going back over Black Coffee and Glass of Wine... looks like we have a bit of a drinks theme going on here 😂

If you're interested in giving line dancing a try all of our classes are suitable for absolute beginners and beginners with full instruction and a mix of music. Aspire sessions are priced as per their website; K's Kicks sessions are all £5 per person. Children are welcome with an accompanying adult (half price if dancing, free if just watching).

Pubs / Clubs / Venues - we are currently looking for venues with either a function room or dance floor (even a small one) for running some ad hoc pop-up line dancing events in the Wrexham and outskirts areas. Happy to consider further afield. If you are interested in working with us for these events please get in touch on the above details quoting "POPUP". We can do them completely country-themed, with a mix of music, family friendly, etc. - we can work with you on the theme and vibe of the pop-up.

Private Hire - we are also available for hire for instruction for private and corporate events for birthday parties, hen and stag parties, corporate functions, charity fundraisers and any other type of event you can think of. Quote "PRIVATE HIRE" when getting in touch.

We still have seats available on our coach daytrip to the Welshpool country and western music festival, so if you want to join us (and the festival) for the day please get in touch.

Pickup points are currently in Rossett, Wrexham Town Centre and Chirk based on those currently booked on to the trip (we may be able to add additional pickup points but that will be dependant on the numbers requiring it). More details in the original post.

Welshpool Country Music Festival Coach Daytrip Deposits

Hi all. Just a reminder that if you've put your name down for (or would like to put your name down for) the coach daytrip to the Welshpool Country Music Festival on 18th July, I need your deposits for holding your seats on the coach ASAP. Deposits are £10 per seat booked.

If you are able to bring the deposits to class with you it would be greatly appreciated as I need to pay the coach deposit. If you need to get bank details from me to do a transfer let me know and I can send them across.

A reminder of the details:
* Pickup points in Rossett, Wrexham Town Centre and Chirk - Times to be confirmed once I know how many at each pickup point.

* The full price is £55 per person. This includes the return coach travel and the ticket to get into the festival.

* There will be room in the coach luggage compartment for foldable picnic/camping chairs if you would like to bring them with you, and although food and drink is available there we also recommend that you bring a picnic with you, however, no glass is permitted as per the rules of the festival.

* We are aiming to arrive for 10am, and will leave at 6pm.

We still have seats available so if you know of anyone who would like to come along for the day pass them my details and ask them to get in touch. They do not need to be K's Kicks dancers - you can bring along your friends, family members, kids, grandkids, etc. We also have dancers from other groups joining us too. The more the merrier.

So, we posted yesterday looking for venues for pop-up events... and got asked to put on a weekly class! Our new afternoon class at Cefn Mawr Community Social Club starts next week on Wednesday 17th June 12-2pm.

Sessions can be paid for as cash on the door. All K's Kicks Line Dancing classes are aimed at Absolute Beginners and Beginners, but are also suitable for those returning to line dancing after a break. We dance a mix of newer and classic line dances, and to a mix of music, and take a break mid-way for refreshments (available from the bar at Cefn classes) and a small weekly (optional) raffle. Each K's Kicks class nominates their own charity for the funds to go to, with our other classes currently voting for Nightingale House Hospice, Myeloma UK and Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, New Road, Glyn Ceiriog for their classes. Who knows what the nominated charity will be for The Cefn Club dancers - that is up to them...
