My new reclaimed glaze collection is almost ready 🌿 but looking back, I think this way of being in the world has been part of me for a long time.

I was always the one dragging my family out for walks, noticing things, collecting things and wanting to know more about what was around me.

I foraged and made jams and loved turning what we already had into something else. I didn’t think of any of this as sustainability, just something I enjoyed.

This is an instinct I still have and it’s joined me in the studio….looking at things and wondering how they can be used…materials with a past, rather than something completely new, which becomes part of the beauty.

The reclaimed glaze collection is almost ready… I’m just working on getting everything photographed and uploaded to my website 🌿 It’ll be available to buy very soon 💚

There’s something pretty magical about turning what would normally go down the drain into something useful.

This glaze is made from the glaze that gets washed off brushes, tools and buckets in the studio. Instead of going down the drain, it gets collected, then we let it settle and process it back into a usable glaze.

It’s messy…It takes a lot of time to sieve through fine mesh…and can be a bit stinky! But then it goes into the kiln…and comes out as this✨

I’m delighted to be taking part in Worcestershire Open Studios for the first time this year ✨

I’ll be showing my core collection of ceramics, alongside recent sgraffito pieces I’ve been working on, inspired by birds and plants I grow at the allotment.

I’ll also be working in the studio throughout, throwing on the wheel and carving sgraffito, so if you visit you can browse my work, chat to me about pottery workshops or simply watch me making.
