Music Spoken Here is a project set up in 2022 to support exceptional live music in the West Midlands area, with a focus on modern jazz fusions, funk, soul and world music. We showcase exceptional artists and bands from around the country with events every other Thursday at The Marrs Bar in Worcester city centre. Our program has included established artists such as Yolanda Charles, Jason Rebello, P

aul & Jeremy Stacey, Alex Hitchcock, Paul Booth, Ryan Quigley and younger artists such as Tom Ford, Corrie Dick, Dan Lockheart, Rosie Frater-Taylor. We've also had two of the last 8 Young Drummer of the Year winners (Nathan Shingler & Tom Potter) and three-time finalist Zoe Pascal. Instead we operate a 'pay-what-you-can' on the door model, with the suggested contribution of ยฃ10-15 for most events. We also offer Club Membership, which includes entry to all our shows for just ยฃ18 per month.

A number of our subscribers have reported that they are not receiving our weekly newsletter. Around 30% of our active subscribers have not opened any of our emails in the last 90 days - the majority of these recipients signed up with gmail or hotmail accounts.

In some cases the emails are dropping into the spam / junk folder. If this is happening to you, you can add musicspokenhere.club to the 'safe senders' list in your email settings. However some are just not getting through at all.

I've made a configuration change on our Internet domain that should improve email delivery to Google (gmail) and Microsoft (live / hotmail / outlook) recipients in future.

Huge thanks to all who came through for Music Spoken Here presents V6 Organ Trio last night. What an incredible performance! I think everyone was particularly struck by their gorgeous rendition of Wichita Lineman. Weโ€™ll have a video up on YouTube over the next few days, and look forward to Ian Mannโ€™s review of this fantastic new band (this was their second gig!).

We know what we like, we find it and we put it on at The Marrs Bar. It has taken time (now in our fifth year), but we have built a growing audience that enjoys what we do. We still need more support, but last night, JUST TWO MORE PEOPLE through the door and we would have broken even.

Weโ€™ve got one more gig before we break for the summer, but weโ€™ll be back in September with THREE Thursday night โ€˜Kind of Jazzโ€™ gigs, PLUS a special, one-off PROG ROCK gig from Living In Shadows on Sunday 20th September.
