All stitched and cut off the hoop. It's a big head dress👌
Just clipped in place at the moment, as need to add her bleeding heart and birds of paradise. This will then all fit back inside a plastic gold ornate frame minus the glass this time. If i can I might make her a box frame🤔
Hope you have had time to do what make you happy today.💐

An upscycle project today. A picture I was bought but never hung up. It was always a bit plain and not really a true sprint of Freda. Can you believe someone sold this napkin stuck to a board and passed it off as art!
So I've decided to give her life. Making 3D flowers out of scraps of old sari floor clippings gathered on a visit's to India. Crochet flowers, Odds & ends that was sitting in a scrap/ experiment pot, to make up her iconic flower head dress.
There is an unspoken "Frida Kahlo" undercurent at my stitch group so I thought I'd join in.
Hope you have been able to do what you love on your rest day.💐

Making time to be creative. Looking at past projects especially "Waves" by Alexandra Waylett. I am using techniques from that project to see if I can replicate the details in my card. I like what is happening but think a completely different technique, fabrics and tools are needed. Pictured below are work in progress. Looking forward to the long weekend to see what develops.💐

When you have a head cold and take the day off. Sitting still, weaving and drawing helps you to some how breath better. I have had an idea in my head for a new piece of work inspired by a card Alan bought me. Watch this space to see sample workings out.

My WIP for Textiles East this year. Exhibiting with Stitch wild at the new venue in Newmarket. Picture taken from my photos of a trip to India in 2019. A mixed media piece, Acrylic paint on canvas with lattice work hand stitched. I am making a stitch book alongside, as I am teaching myself lattice work. I am encouraged to exhibit even if its not finished. Looking forward to being at the new venue, hope to see you there. 21st & 22nd February.

Sunday afternoon makes, a Giant fabric Christmas cracker.
10" body with pelmit violine to give it extra structure. Interfaced fabric ends, all connected by velcro.
I wanted a new Christmas keepsake, something to put a little stocking filler gift in. There is still space to fit a fabric hat (next on the list to make)
This is just a practice piece, they always turn out the best and I've used scrap fabric, so I'm unable to make more like this one. However I have a big box of Christmas fabric, so now to make 6 for the dinner table. Wish me luck.
