Will Kemp's Art School has all the tutroials and courses to take you from a beginner to an accomplished painter. I specialise in acrylics but many mediums are covered in my content.

PORTRAITS FOR CHRISTMAS

Hi everyone,

I am now taking portrait commissions for xmas - kids, pets, all types considered…

A portrait is a totally unique present and to date all of my clients have been delighted.

Cost
Pencil, charcoal: £250-500
Oil: £650 - £1500

N.B. I ask for 50% upfront and the remainder on completion.

Process
I have to work from photos as my portraits take weeks or even months to produce. I can work from photos supplied or can do a photoshoot myself.

HOW TO PRICE ARTWORK - HOW WE DO IT
Have you ever been faced with the question "Is that painting for sale? How much is it? or How much do you charge for a portrait commission?"

After the initial excitement, these questions can cause a mild panic! Without having a clear pricing strategy you can easily lose a sale or come across as unprofessional.

It’s tricky and pricing art is a little different from pricing most other products due to all the emotion involved.

My life-drawing class is up and running well now. Next one tomorrow here in Windsor, 5-7pm. If you fancy giving it a go there are still places left. Should be fun :)
