KNOWSLEY’S YOUNG PEOPLE DESERVE A CLEAR PATH TO SUCCESS

For too long, Knowsley has faced serious challenges around educational outcomes and opportunities for our young people.

After more than five decades of Labour stewardship locally, we believe it is fair to ask a simple question:

Are our children leaving education with the opportunities, qualifications and career pathways they deserve?

At Reform UK Knowsley, we don't believe local politics should simply be about pointing out what has gone wrong. We want to help put it right.

We recognise that much of education policy is determined nationally. But Knowsley Council can still play an important role in bringing together schools, colleges, training providers and employers to create better opportunities for our young people.

Our ambition is to make Knowsley a centre for engineering, manufacturing and skilled industry.

We have the location. We have excellent transport links. We have major employers and industrial areas on our doorstep. What we need is a stronger pathway connecting education directly to employment.

School → College → Apprenticeship → Skilled Job → Career

We want to see colleges and training providers working closely with local industry so that young people can gain qualifications employers actually need. Engineering, manufacturing, construction, electrical and mechanical trades, logistics, digital technology and other skilled industries should all form part of Knowsley's future.

Apprenticeships must be a major part of that.

Labour nationally is talking about apprenticeships and skills. Reform UK Knowsley is prepared to work constructively with Knowsley Labour to turn those ambitions into real opportunities here in our borough.

Where Labour has a good idea, we will support it. Where more ambition is needed, we will challenge them. And where decades of the same approach have failed to deliver the outcomes Knowsley deserves, we will push for change.

This isn't about political point-scoring. It's about the next generation.

A young person growing up in Knowsley should be able to see a clear route from the classroom, through meaningful qualifications and apprenticeships, into skilled employment and a successful, independent life.

After 52 years, Knowsley cannot afford another generation without that pathway.

Reform Knowsley is ready to help build it.

Train locally. Employ locally. Build Knowsley's future.
