Wacapella

Wacapella Wacapella is a choir of women who love to sing unaccompanied harmony. We meet at The Warehouse Theatre, Hope Street, Weymouth DT4 8TU on Fridays 11am - 12.30.

We sing in 3 or 4 part harmony and enjoy American roots, Beatles, Ali Burns, South African gospel, Shape-note, folk, pop, west gallery ... you name it! We perform in concerts throughout the year, keep an eye on this page for updates! To join Wacapella you need to be able to hold a tune, and either be able to read music or willing to record the musical director (eg on a phone) demonstrating how som

ething goes, and then practice it at home. (Or both!)

Subs are currently £6 a session, payable half-termly. The musical director is Juliet Harwood, who also runs The Quangle Wangle Choir and The Live Wire Choir.

After our concert this morning we popped into The Sunflower Cafe to sing our version the Ukrainian Bell Carol, sometimes known as Ring Christmas Bells. So happy we were able to spread a little bit of Christmas cheer 🙂

We had a lovely time singing on the harbour side yesterday, giving an impromptu performance of our summer programme to people enjoying the sunshine. It was great having people stop to listen, and the land train made a couple of passes too!
Here we are after our performance, clearly the weather heard us singing "Bring Me Sunshine" as it was glorious!
