“Against All Odds”
A3 polychromos on pastlemat

There is something both beautiful and heartbreaking about drawing a species whose very existence is hanging by a thread.

The red wolf is disappearing. Its habitat, its place in the world, and its future are all being taken away. With so few left, every single pup born is a tiny miracle — a spark of hope in an increasingly uncertain future.

This is why I chose the red wolf for Explorers Against Extinction Sketch for Survival.

I wanted to capture not just their vulnerability, but their resilience. A mother standing with her pups, carrying hope for a species that refuses to give up.

This piece is called “Against All Odds” because despite everything humans have thrown at them, they are still here.

Still wild.
Still fighting.

And they deserve a future.

Does this piece make you want to find out more about Red wolves?

Happy World Ocean Day!

Today I’m marking the day with my coloured (well black white and grey) pencil drawing of a hammerhead shark, one of the ocean’s most distinctive and fascinating animals.

Hammerheads are instantly recognisable by their unusual head shape, which gives them a wider field of vision and helps them detect prey hidden beneath the sand.

Sadly, many hammerhead species are facing serious threats. Overfishing, bycatch, and the shark fin trade have caused dramatic population declines worldwide. Some species, including the scalloped hammerhead, are now listed as Critically Endangered.

Healthy shark populations are vital for healthy oceans. As apex predators, hammerheads help maintain balance in marine ecosystems, keeping food webs functioning and supporting biodiversity.

World Ocean Day is a good reminder of how important it is to protect marine life and the habitats these animals depend on. Every species has a role to play, and every action we take to conserve our seas makes a difference.

What ocean animal inspires you most?

Do you know the coolest thing about Click to Continue?

The QR code actually works.

What looks like a simple detail was one of the most challenging parts of this drawing. I spent around 8 hours carefully measuring, adjusting, and redrawing every element to create a QR code that remained fully functional while still feeling like part of the artwork.

The challenge was finding the perfect balance — making it bold enough to scan, but subtle enough not to overpower the rhino itself. Do you think I achieved that?

So yes, you can genuinely scan the drawing and click to continue.

I feel so blessed that he and my Wild dog will be at the September 8th-12th at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 🙏

Thank you to everyone for their lovely comments they have been the best confidence boost ❤️

was completely blown away to discover that one of my artworks has not only been featured on the Instagram page, but is also being used on their main website as the lead image for the Facing Extinction section.

To say this is mind-blowing would be an understatement.

As an artist who is passionate about wildlife and conservation, seeing my work showcased by an organisation I admire so much is incredibly special. It feels surreal, exciting, and honestly a little overwhelming in the very best way.

I’m feeling so grateful for this opportunity and for everyone who has supported my artistic journey along the way. Moments like this remind me why I do what I do.

Thank you, , for this incredible honour. ❤️

Still completely in shock…

After seven years of entering, hoping and trying, I’ve finally been selected for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition — and somehow BOTH of my pieces made it through 🤯✨

I genuinely had to reread the email multiple times because I thought I’d misunderstood it. When it finally clicked that not one, but two artworks had been selected, I honestly didn’t know whether to cry, laugh, or scream.

This has been such a huge personal goal of mine for years, so this moment feels incredibly emotional and surreal.

So proud to share that “Last Known Location” and “Click to Continue” are officially part of the exhibition 🐾🦏

Thank you to everyone who’s supported my work and followed this journey. Persistence really does pay off ❤️

Thank you to you’ve made a dream come true.

I feel like I owe a little explanation for my absence lately.

I’ve always tried to keep social media at the heart of my art business — sharing my work, growing my page, and hoping that one day my art finds the people it’s meant for. And firstly, I just want to say thank you to those of you who continue to support me so loyally and kindly. It truly means more than you know.

The truth is, life has been incredibly heavy for myself and my family for quite some time now. I kept hoping this year would bring some peace and some normality back into our lives, but instead it’s felt like watching the people I love be hurt again and again. One thing I’ve really struggled with is seeing how easily people forget there are real humans behind the stories and opinions shared online. The impact that cruelty, assumptions and judgment can have on someone is enormous.

A few weeks ago I was invited to South Africa to work at a conservation centre, and despite nearly not going, my family encouraged me to take that time away. It gave me a little space to breathe again, and I’ll share more about that experience soon because it truly was incredible.

But if I’m honest, social media has become a place I’ve struggled to feel connected to lately, and somewhere along the way my creativity disappeared a little too. I desperately want to find my way back to drawing properly and back to myself again — I’m just not quite there yet.

Yesterday we lost a very special dog who meant everything to our family, and posting about him reminded me of something important: there are still so many genuinely kind people in this world. Your messages, support and love reminded me that even in difficult times, goodness still exists.

So for now, please just bear with me a little longer. I’m hoping the peace, the creativity, and the joy will come back in time. ❤️

Here is a cow I painted a few weeks back x
