I sometimes get caught in the trap of thinking of these kinds of projects as a “thing on the side” or just a little something for the community. But today I’ve been reminded of the sheer amount of joy that these outstanding musicians bring to care home residents. It might seem small, but it’s so so mighty. Best day at work I’ve had in a while.

This morning I spent a few minutes updating my work calendar for the next few weeks while Come From Away played in the background. It included adding:

- Press Night
- Charity Fundraiser Cabaret
- Play visit with a view to collaborate
- Book launch
- N/A - at wedding

All of these are in-person events, not mine, just things I’m attending.

Things aren’t the same - there’s a monstrous cat in the frame, I’m not wearing a bra (it’s no longer a matter of course to adorn one immediately), I’m more likely be concerning myself with community engagement than with investment portfolios most days, and I have homework that needs doing for training in a completely different field.

A lot has changed, but today things feel more like the before than they have done in literally years. My diary looks like mine again. People are doing things, making things, sharing things.

Looking forward to a time when I don’t feel like everything is about to be taken away at any moment, but for today I’m just going to enjoy life feeling lifey again.

The closest to normal I’ve felt since March. I danced on the at home. Happy 5th birthday and the most gorgeous bunch of people I have the pleasure of knowing.

I can't believe this play premiered 5 years go...it seems like just yesterday that we put this together. Written by none other than Neil McPherson, Artistic Director of Finborough Theatre, 'I Wish to Die Singing' is a play highlighting the injustices of the Armenian Genocide. And now the recording is available to view in full online for free!

One of my favourite gigs is working with The Guilty Feminist as their booker. This recent episode with sisters, Patricia and Jean Owtram who both worked incredible jobs in WW2 and didn't tell each other at the time due to the official secrets act, is one of my all time FAVOURITES. These women are incredible and also hilarious.
