Paper mural hung last week in North Lopham.

I applied lining paper vertically on the walls previously to help with any potential shrinkage- being a very high wall I had to do most off a ladder.

The paper from Photo wall- Marble stone abstract in the premium matte finish- 9 panel piece paper that was paste the wall.

Finished exterior from a job in Wicklewood from last week.

Considerable amount of rot on some windows that required repair care to prevent further deterioration.lots of puttying involved on the windows where old bits have cracked and fallen out with ease.

This job included nine windows-
five small sash windows
two circular windows
two large sash windows
One door and frame- tread painted black

All woodwork had two flash coats of zinnser 123+ primer
Sanding between coats I then applied Sandtex oil based flexible primer.
Top coat in Sandex flexigloss.

Finished room from a job in Watton last week.

-Ceiling painted in matt Farrow & Ball colour ‘Dimity’

-Walls painted in Farrow & Ball ‘Red Earth’ in a vinyl Matt finish.

-woodwork painted in ‘Dimity’ as well in a satinwood finish.

All surfaces had two coats after extensive prep work.

Hallway in bungalow finished start it this week in Gressenhall.

Ceiling painted in AF1
Walls were painted in a Dulux trade grey custom vinyl Matt
Woodwork included frames, skirtings and a lift hatch that had all been previously painted a beige colour so needed three coats.

I used Zinnser bullseye 123 as a base coat, then crown trade undercoat solvent based followed by crown satin finish.

Wallpaper is a Dunelm paper that is paste the wall application, non woven material that is a 7 panel mural. It is a hyper realistic arch window that gives the illusion of a bright entrance.

Photos from a hallway and passageway finished realise this week all papered with wallpaper from B&Q ‘Super fresco range’ that has since been discontinued.

Job was carried out in Gissing. Paper was paste the wall application with good light fastness- ideal for hallway with plenty of light coming in.
Being free match paper there was less waste than some other types of wallpaper I’ve used previously as there was no need pattern match on this type of wallpaper.

Finished in Long Stratton over the last couple days.

Ceiling painted in AF1 Albany ultra flat white matt.

Walls painted in Farrow & Ball ‘Apple White’ tinted in Crown Clean Extreme.

Wall paper is from company Wallpaper Mural and is their Foxglove Flowers- paste the wall application in six panels applied left to right. Paper and wall colour helps to give a nice botanical feel to the room.

Living room and dining area finished in Thetford this week- taking a total of eight days.

Panelled ceilings were particularly rough with cracks around every single edge. I had to apply expanding foam in many of the bigger gaps where the boards had lifted over time. Multiple coats of easy fill and plaster over some of the cracks after a coat of Gardz to seal beforehand. The ceilings had two coats of AF1.

Walls were papered in two types of wallpaper both paste the wall. Around bay window was painted in Dulux overtly olive.

From the Super fresco easy range Dutton stripe is what the majority of walls are papered in

The two back walls are papered in Florentine.

Woodwork included two doors, three frames, four window sills,skirting and picture rail in both rooms.
With usual prep of caulking wood filling and sanding between coats. I applied two Johnstones water based primer under coat
Followed with Johnstones Aqua guard gloss.

Five years ago I set up Powells decorating Service and have seen it grow exponentially.

I started my business out of my old car and since then have had a sign written van, so many enquiries for work- many of which have led to long term customers and done plenty of learning along the way.

I appreciate all those who support my business whether it’s by word of mouth or choosing me for a decorating project.
