Finished in Long Stratton over the last couple days.

Ceiling painted in AF1 Albany ultra flat white matt.

Walls painted in Farrow & Ball ‘Apple White’ tinted in Crown Clean Extreme.

Wall paper is from company Wallpaper Mural and is their Foxglove Flowers- paste the wall application in six panels applied left to right. Paper and wall colour helps to give a nice botanical feel to the room.

Living room and dining area finished in Thetford this week- taking a total of eight days.

Panelled ceilings were particularly rough with cracks around every single edge. I had to apply expanding foam in many of the bigger gaps where the boards had lifted over time. Multiple coats of easy fill and plaster over some of the cracks after a coat of Gardz to seal beforehand. The ceilings had two coats of AF1.

Walls were papered in two types of wallpaper both paste the wall. Around bay window was painted in Dulux overtly olive.

From the Super fresco easy range Dutton stripe is what the majority of walls are papered in

The two back walls are papered in Florentine.

Woodwork included two doors, three frames, four window sills,skirting and picture rail in both rooms.
With usual prep of caulking wood filling and sanding between coats. I applied two Johnstones water based primer under coat
Followed with Johnstones Aqua guard gloss.

Five years ago I set up Powells decorating Service and have seen it grow exponentially.

I started my business out of my old car and since then have had a sign written van, so many enquiries for work- many of which have led to long term customers and done plenty of learning along the way.

I appreciate all those who support my business whether it’s by word of mouth or choosing me for a decorating project.

Bathroom from the Gressenhall job finished.

I recently posted a video of me applying a coat of zinnser gardz to the fresh plaster in this bathroom- I spent a fair amount of time sanding down and filling the plaster as it wasn’t done to a great standard.

I painted the ceiling and coving in crown vinyl emulsion.

Back wall behind the toilet was painted in ‘sapphire salute’ in soft sheen (Dulux colour)

Rest of the walls painted in Crown Easy care soft sheen ‘moonlight bay’.

Only woodwork in the bathroom was the door frame that was under coated and satin after a thorough wood fill and caulk.

Two very different wallpaper murals finished today on the Gressenhall job I’ve been on recently.

First paper from Wallsauce is a bold statement piece- Green and Gold Peacocks (paste the wall application) a five panel piece.

The unique floral design mural is from Dunelm this was seven pieces also paste the wall. A luxurious non woven paper with some vibrant colours.

En-suite Ceiling decorated earlier this week

Ceiling was particularly rough due to blistered paint-likely caused by poor ventilation. I scraped around the blistered areas until nothing more was loose then scraped all the edges down with a rough 60 grit sandpaper.

I then proceeded to sand the whole ceiling down with a finer 120grit once again going round all the edges then dusted down the ceiling.

I applied two coats of Zinnser Peelstop- a great clear binding primer that not only glues round the edges to stop further flaking but it also greats a breathable membrane allowing moisture to pass between the paint and plaster preventing this from being an issue in the future.

Once the peelstop had dried I mixed up some easy fill and went round all the flaked edging for a smooth finish. I then sanded down the dry filler with 120 grit then touched the ceiling in with Matt.

After a couple hours I applied the first full coat of zinnser perma white which is an anti
mould paint which is self priming and designed for high humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens. I finished off a little while later with a second coat and this is the result.

Recently completed bathroom redecoration in Watton.

Ceiling and wall surface prepped with easy fill but not before a scrape and sand out. Flaking paint behind radiator I sealed with zinnser peelstop.

-Perma white on ceiling durable finish applied for long-term performance in a high-moisture space.

-Wall colour is Farrow and ball ‘Shadow White’ mixed in Albany durable matt.

-woodwork included two window boxes with sills, door frame and skirting. These had two coats of Albany water based eggshell in two coats.

The Finished wallpaper mural from the Hingham job.

In addition to the mural I also decorated the ceiling and walls in Dulux ‘natural calico’ in vinyl matt.

This room took 20L of paint as it is a big open plan area that tied in the kitchen, living room, passageway and diner.Includes over 20 spotlights on the ceiling. Woodwork (one door frame and lots of skirting) were sanded filled and painted in Dulux white oil based eggshell.

Local job in Watton finished end of last week.

This living room is divided in the middle by a beam so both parts were painted in Little Greene colour ‘Mochi’ that is best described as a muted pink-brown. I also did most walls in the room in Mochi in an absolute matt emulsion.

The darker colour that did part of the larger wall and the entirely of the small wall were painted in Little Greene ‘Ganache’ a deep brown that took three coats to fully cover.

This paint was also in the absolute Matt emulsion finish and both paints are a paints are a part of Little Greene Sweet Treat range.
