We built this place with soul and heart.

Eight years on, still bold, still us -
Creating magic, because we must. ✨ And every bit of magic we’ve made and seen,
Lives in our team, our people, and those in between. Thank you to all of our incredible team, extraordinary service users and wonderful collaborators and supporters - Love and hugs, Maria and Nicky… and our new little director, Stevie ######

We spent some time sitting with Daisy during our Chinese New Year session this week. ✨

She had been carefully creating a dragon scale, which will become part of our large collaborative dragon artwork, each person contributing their own scale before we bring it all together later this week. It’s always so special watching individual pieces turn into something shared.

Alongside that, Daisy worked on a painting for the Year of the Horse. She traced the image first, taking her time to get it just right, before using watercolours to carefully bring it to life.

When we asked her what she enjoys most about Cathartic, she said she loves “getting on with art and the people.” That balance of creativity and connection is exactly what these sessions are about.

She also told us she’d learnt that it’s the Year of the Horse, and that she was born in the Year of the Rat, which is known for being great with money, smart and intelligent. We think that sounds about right. ❤️

Moments of learning, pride and creativity all in one afternoon

Our Arts Award group designed a beautiful Christmas event for the amazing ladies we work with✨

From the very first idea to the final delivery, they planned and led the entire afternoon themselves bringing so much kindness, care and creativity to the workshop.

It was a resounding success, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Huge congratulations to our wonderful Arts Award group, and a heartfelt thank you to our incredible ladies for taking part 💛

It was lovely to catch up with Lili during our session this week. ❤️

When we asked her what she’d been making, she told us about her LEGO creations, including a little puppy she’d built herself.

She also spent time exploring different art activities and even helped Molly along the way, which was wonderful to see.

Lili told us she enjoys coming to Cathartic and that her favourite part of the day was “doing all the activities.” When we asked her to describe the day in one word, she said it was really fun. ✨

Moments like this remind us why these sessions matter, creativity, friendship, confidence and joy, all in one space.

We’re so proud of everyone who joins us each week.
