We spent some time sitting with Daisy during our Chinese New Year session this week. ✨

She had been carefully creating a dragon scale, which will become part of our large collaborative dragon artwork, each person contributing their own scale before we bring it all together later this week. It’s always so special watching individual pieces turn into something shared.

Alongside that, Daisy worked on a painting for the Year of the Horse. She traced the image first, taking her time to get it just right, before using watercolours to carefully bring it to life.

When we asked her what she enjoys most about Cathartic, she said she loves “getting on with art and the people.” That balance of creativity and connection is exactly what these sessions are about.

She also told us she’d learnt that it’s the Year of the Horse, and that she was born in the Year of the Rat, which is known for being great with money, smart and intelligent. We think that sounds about right. ❤️

Moments of learning, pride and creativity all in one afternoon

Our Arts Award group designed a beautiful Christmas event for the amazing ladies we work with✨

From the very first idea to the final delivery, they planned and led the entire afternoon themselves bringing so much kindness, care and creativity to the workshop.

It was a resounding success, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Huge congratulations to our wonderful Arts Award group, and a heartfelt thank you to our incredible ladies for taking part 💛

It was lovely to catch up with Lili during our session this week. ❤️

When we asked her what she’d been making, she told us about her LEGO creations, including a little puppy she’d built herself.

She also spent time exploring different art activities and even helped Molly along the way, which was wonderful to see.

Lili told us she enjoys coming to Cathartic and that her favourite part of the day was “doing all the activities.” When we asked her to describe the day in one word, she said it was really fun. ✨

Moments like this remind us why these sessions matter, creativity, friendship, confidence and joy, all in one space.

We’re so proud of everyone who joins us each week.

There’s nothing more rewarding than hearing how much your people enjoyed themselves. Seeing their creativity come to life and knowing how much people love to be creative and how they look forward to returning here means the world😊✨

There was such a lovely energy in the room as everyone opened their fortune cookies for the Chinese New Year. 🎊✨

Each message sparked smiles and a few moments of thoughtfulness.

Sophia’s fortune read, “Everyone has a talent at 25; the difficulty is having it at 50.” A reminder that growth and confidence take time, and that we all carry something special within us.

Daisy opened hers to find, “You will win success in anything you adopt.”

Sanas shared, “Our mistakes are good teachers.” A beautiful message that fits perfectly with what we believe here: learning, trying, and growing together.

And Gean’s fortune, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it,”.

The simple joy of cracking open a fortune cookie together. ❤️

✨ Today we’re introducing another one of our Cathartic stars… Holly. ✨

Holly is the kind of person who brings a quiet kindness into every space she’s in.

She loves the simple joys, getting lost in Animal Crossing, anything Disney, and spending time creating artwork that reflects her imagination and gentle nature. Drawing is where Holly really shines, and her creativity speaks in the most thoughtful, calm way.

Always polite, always considerate, Holly has such a kind and gentle presence at Cathartic. She reminds us that creativity doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful, sometimes it’s the softest voices that bring the most warmth.

We’re so grateful to have Holly as part of our Cathartic family. ❤️

Last Friday was National Have Fun At Work Day…
so of course, we organised an animal encounter 🐢🐍

There was laughter, curiosity, a few brave moments, and plenty of smiles as everyone got the chance to meet some amazing animals up close. For some, it was a brand-new experience. For others, a moment of pure joy.

✨ Today we’re introducing one of our Cathartic stars… Jack. ✨

Jack’s the kind of person who finds joy in the simple things: a proper cup of tea at lunch, time spent creating art at Cathartic, and being exactly where he’s happiest.

Kind and helpful by nature (not because he has to be, but because he wants to be), Jack brings a calm, gentle energy into every space he’s in. At the weekends, his favourite place to be is with his family, especially his mum and dad, soaking up time together.

Jack reminds us that warmth, creativity and care don’t need to be loud to be powerful. We’re very lucky to have him as part of our Cathartic family. ❤️
