It's a week until The Actor Class returns! Have you always wanted to try acting but never had the opportunity? Or have you performed in the past and would like to reconnect with your craft? Either way, The Actor Class is for you.

Presented in partnership with Ludovico Studio and taught by actor Darren Jeffries, these acting classes aim to provide participants with the skills necessary to thrive in TV, film and theatre. Every class is designed specifically for beginners, and no experience is necessary.

Running weekly on Wednesdays from 9 Feb - 30 Mar and Thursdays from 10 Feb - 31 Mar. The Wednesday sessions are now fully booked but there are a few places left on Thursdays!

In partnership with Ludovico Foundation, we're running The Actor Class again starting in Wednesday 9 February.

The class comprises eight weekly sessions at the Coliseum and is designed to elevate and empower newcomers to the North-West acting community, providing each skill necessary to thrive in TV, film and theatre.

Risks are encouraged, success is celebrated and mistakes are all part of the process, helping each actor to reach their fullest potential, whether you’re aged 18 or 80!

Your tutor will be actor Darren Jeffries. Darren began acting professionally at 15, after a performance in Warrington’s Parr Hall led him to his first role in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.

As prominent cast member Sam ‘OB’ O’Brien, he remained on the show for a further ten years.

He has since performed on stage at various theatres across the UK including Manchester’s HOME, Bolton’s Octagon Theatre and Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax, alongside various TV roles in Brassic and Doctors.

Darren is a positive, approachable and encouraging tutor who cares very passionately about the individual actor.

* Technique time! One of our favourite acting techniques, Practical Aesthetics (whilst sounding complex) is a very simple approach to acting, and can be comfortably explored across our 6 sessions.

* Perfect the approach! Effective script analysis (understanding a scene with performance in mind) is also a major part of this technique and something we'll explore in great detail.

* Put it into Practice! As usual, we’ll utilise the skills you’ll develop workshopping bespoke film & TV scripts across various screen acting activities.
