We had an interesting night last night which, in honour of Saint Patrick's Day, we called 'Fifty Shades of Green' 🙄 thankfully people embraced the fact that it was green that we were painting in and that the subject of the book had nothing to do with it whatsoever... 😆

Will be there again Tuesday night next week at 7 pm so come along and say hi bring your materials or just bring yourself and see what you think! If the door to the church is closed please ring Ring the third buzzer and we'll come out and open the door!

Nice to see some new faces at Art Club tonight... seems the advertising is working well!

If you would like to pop along and see us next Tuesday, for any Tuesday for that matter from 7 pm till 9 pm then pop along to West Wakefield Methodist Church at the end of Thornes Lane - just before it becomes Horbury Road.

As you can see we are a friendly bunch with a range of abilities and a schedule of themed evenings and freestyle evenings when you can do what you like ( actually you can do what you like any time ...) and we always have hot drinks and biscuits or cake at 8... so pop along then for a chat if you don't want to come earlier.

Over the years, Wakefield Art Club has created quite an extensive archive, both of members' work and photographs of them at the club and at exhibitions!

Do you recognise anyone on here? If you do you are more than welcome to come down and visit us and we will get the scrapbook out for you... or just come down for a chat and get an idea as a kind of things we do these days!

We meet every Tuesday evening at 7 pm for two hours at West Wakefield Methodist Church, Thornes Lane- right at the end ,almost where the old Empire Stores building was!

Buzzer number three will ring a bell in our room and I'll come and let you in.

I will be attaching the schedule for the next few months so you can have a look and hopefully come down and join us for one or two sessions!

We had a lovely old-fashioned Christmas fuddle last night - because there was food and lots of chatter we painted some lovely Starlington's supplied by Mel... it was lovely relaxing night and looking forward to seeing everybody tonight for our Christmas meal!
Should point out there are as many women in the group as there are men... but it seems only two of us actually got photographed 🤔... could've been because we were taking the photographs I guess!

I'd like to take this opportunity of wishing all of our followers and members past and present, a very happy Christmas and New Year!

That's it for us now until Tuesday, the 6th of January and we look forward to seeing you then if you want to come along and meet the gang and find out a bit more about us. 🎄🤶🎅

Members and visitors had an enjoyable evening practising some images using pointillism... although I'm not sure any of us are going to be taking it up full-time 😳
Nice to see Sandy there checking is out for possible future joining ... if you are seeing this Sunday I cannot find where we had the messages between us so can you pop onto here directly please 😬

We will be meeting again on Tuesday night at 7 pm and we're going to use it as a night to sample different mediums... so if you are undecided as to whether you want to be a watercolourist, and acrylic painter, may be working in oils, or would like to explore inks, then come along and have a dabble.

Your first couple of visits are free so a nice way of trying before you buy !

This was our theme a couple of weeks ago but some lovely work produced!

Our group is under largely new leadership and we are doing a complete rejig on our scene and looking for demonstrators !
If you are considering joining either to learn something new, or just to spend a couple of hours with like-minded people, why don't you come along on Tuesday between 7 pm and 9 pm and have a couple with us and meet some of the current members !
If you let me know via sending a direct message I will meet you at the door and bring you in - my name is Suzanne and I am the club secretary.

All come as welcome and worth mentioning that the current membership is 50-50 male and female, and the age group is 14 -90!
Under 18s are welcome with a fee paying adult member.
