Welcome to the Wesley Players FB page. Founded in 1949, we are based in Upminster, Essex. We are also regulars in full length and one act drama festivals.

2019 marked the 70th anniversary of the formation of the Wesley Players. Over the last 70 years we have put on almost 200 productions, normally consisting of our extremely popular pantomime at the end of January, with 2 other offerings in May and September. Whilst we don’t have any of the original cast members still performing with us, we hope that they would approve of our current stewardship and

our devoted efforts to keep the Wesley Players going from strength to strength. More recently we have been “touring” with our Murder Mystery evenings which have proved to be a great success.

We are proud to announce our next production will be the classic comedy/horror thriller "The Ghost Train" by Arnold Ridley.

Six passengers find themselves stranded late at night in the waiting room of an isolated Cornish railway station. Ignoring the ghostly tales and dire warnings of the stationmaster, they decide to stay where they are until morning, with terrifying consequences!

Performances at 8pm on Thursday 17th to 19th September, with an additional 4pm matinée performance on 19th September.

The Wesley Players present a moving drama inspired by true events.
A story of love, loss, and laughter as Henry, John, Alice, Elizabeth, and Rebecca fight to preserve the works of their friend, William Shakespeare—before they are lost forever.

Set in 1619 on London’s vibrant South Bank, they face fire, grief, empty purses, and ruthless publishers in a race to create the first folio.

Step back in time and witness the extraordinary effort that saved Shakespeare’s words and shaped the theatre we know today.

Times:
8pm Thursday 14th, Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May.
Mattinee 4pm on Saturday 16th May

Tickets:
Online in advance Adults £9 Concessions £7 and children £5 (up to 16). Free Senior Citizen tickets available. Donations Welcome.
