🌊🐠 What an amazing teamwork project from our young artists!

Over the past two weekends, our children’s art class has been creating a giant collaborative seascape filled with colourful underwater creatures and imaginative ocean scenes. Using one long sheet of paper stretching from one end of the table to the other, the class worked in two groups, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and collaboration.

We began the project last weekend and were excited to complete it this weekend, bringing all of the wonderful ideas together into one spectacular artwork.

I am incredibly proud of every child who took part. The creativity, effort, and teamwork they showed were fantastic, and the finished seascapes are absolutely amazing! 🌊✨

A huge well done to all our young artists – you should be very proud of what you’ve achieved. I can’t wait to see what we create next! 🎨💙

📢 A quick reminder for parents: I will be away for the next few weeks, so there will be no children’s art classes during this time. Classes will resume on Saturday 11th July and Sunday 12th July. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back after the break!

🌊🐠 Sea Life Collaboration Project! 🐙✨

This weekend, our young artists worked together to create a giant underwater world stretching across the entire table!

The Saturday groups had the challenge of planning and designing their artwork as a team. They discussed ideas, chose which sea creatures to paint, and worked together to create one large collaborative piece. It was wonderful to see so much creativity, communication, excitement, and teamwork throughout the process.

The paintings are not finished yet, and we’ll be adding the final details this Friday. The Sunday morning class also created a beautiful sea-life artwork, while our Sunday afternoon artists continued working on their lovely Welsh Corgi paintings.

I’m so proud of what everyone has achieved so far. Here are some photos from the process and the artworks in progress! 🎨💙

This weekend, our young artists painted a beautiful Tri-Color Welsh Corgi! 🐶🎨

We spent the first half of the session sketching the composition and the second half working with acrylic paints. The breed’s distinctive ears, expressive face, and striking colour contrasts made it a wonderful subject for our artists.

Some children completed their paintings, while others will continue next weekend or finish them at home. I’m so proud of everyone’s effort and creativity—there are some fantastic artworks in progress!

Keep practising at home whenever you can. Every sketch and every brushstroke helps build confidence and skills. Well done, everyone! 🌟

Last weekend, we explored scratch art through cityscapes using bamboo sticks to draw and create without any preliminary sketch. ✨🏙️

The children learned how architecture and atmospheric perspective can bring depth and structure into urban scenes, while gaining confidence in drawing more freely and intuitively.

So many beautiful and successful artworks came out of this lesson! Congratulations to all the young artists for their creativity and wonderful work, it was such a fun session! 🎨👏

Over the last couple of weeks, our young artists have been working on beautiful Mount Fuji landscape paintings inspired by Japan. 🗻🎨

The children chose from two reference photos and created artworks full of incredible detail. Because of the amount of detail involved, these projects took a little longer to complete, but I didn’t want to rush the process. I wanted the children to understand that realistic painting takes time, patience, and dedication.

I am so proud and impressed by the effort, focus, passion, and appreciation for beauty they showed throughout this project. The results are absolutely amazing, and even those who are still finishing their paintings have done an incredible job. ❤️

Just a reminder: next week’s session will be held on Friday from 4:30–6:30 p.m. instead of Saturday, as the building will be closed for the Bank Holiday weekend.

See you all on Friday evening! 😊

Last weekend in our art class, we held an Anime Character Competition, and I honestly couldn’t be prouder of every single student who took part! 🎨✨

The challenge was to create their own original anime character within 1 hour and 45 minutes. Students could choose between:
• A full body character (head to toe)
• Or a half body character (head to torso)

They were also free to use any materials they wanted, which made every artwork unique and personal.

The competition was judged on 3 main points:
⭐ Completion of the artwork within the time limit
⭐ Creativity and originality
⭐ Colour combinations and colour theory choices

We had prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and every student also received a small participation sweet bag because everyone deserved to leave with something after all their hard work. 🍬

What impressed me the most was not only the talent, but the passion, excitement, determination, and effort every child showed throughout the challenge. They worked incredibly hard and truly pushed themselves creatively.

I’m especially proud because competitions like this teach valuable lessons — not only about art, but also about listening carefully to instructions, thinking creatively, accepting feedback, and learning how to improve for next time. At the end of the lesson, every student received constructive feedback to help them grow and become even stronger artists in future competitions.

One important lesson from this day was that creativity matters just as much as technical skill. It’s not only about drawing an anime character, but about bringing something unique and original into the design.

Congratulations once again to all of my students for their amazing work, and a big congratulations to our winners! 🏆👏

You should all be very proud of yourselves! 💖

Over the past two lessons, our young artists have been working on a beautiful (and very detailed!) Mount Fuji landscape painting 🎨🗻

Originally planned for just one session, we quickly realised that this piece needed more time — and that’s completely normal when working with acrylics and focusing on realism. Even after a second session, many of our artists are still carefully adding those tiny details that make their work so special ✨

Some paintings are now finished, others are nearly there, and all of them are absolutely wonderful to see. The patience, focus, and creativity the children have shown has been incredible.

Looking ahead — this coming weekend we’re doing something exciting… an Anime Painting Competition! 🏆 We’ll have 3 winning places, and we can’t wait to see what everyone creates.

Then, the following weekend, we’ll return to our Mount Fuji pieces to continue and complete them.

So proud of all our young artists — watch this space for more updates 💛

✨ This week in our children’s art class… WOW. Just WOW. ✨

Our young artists created these beautiful horse paintings using acrylics 🎨🐴

We used a simple transfer technique to spend less time drawing and more time exploring painting — color mixing, brushwork, and layering.

It’s such a joy to watch each child grow, build confidence, and develop their own unique skills week by week 💛

Last weekend, our young artists explored landscape painting with watercolours 🎨

We focused on composition - learning about background, mid-ground, and foreground and how these create depth and perspective. We also explored colour, looking at warm vs cool tones, contrast, and detail.

Even though not all pieces were finished, their work was fantastic and really shows their understanding. So proud of their effort and creativity! 🌟

Last weekend in our children’s art class, we got into the Easter spirit with a fun and colourful painting session! 🎨✨ The children created beautiful Easter eggs using acrylic paints, each one full of creativity, imagination, and unique designs. We are so proud of all our young artists—such fantastic work this season so far!

Just a quick reminder that there will be no art classes on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th as we take a short Easter break. We’ll be back the following weekend on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th, ready for more creative fun.

Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing Easter break 🐣💛 Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon!
