The Ember Players The Ember Players are a theatre company based in Surrey. We have been staging entertaining, ground-breaking performances for over 60 years. Get Involved!

We stage plays in the local area and welcomes both new members and audiences to enjoy our varied offering of exciting productions “The Ember Players” are a well-established, friendly drama company who stage plays in and around the Walton on Thames, Esher and Molesey areas and who rehearse at the Ember Sports Club in Esher, Surrey. We stage one or two productions a year, always aiming to provide va

riety for our audiences and fresh challenges for our casts and crews. Since our inception in 1949, Ember Players have notched up over 200 shows ranging from Pinter to panto, Shaffer to Shakespeare, “Amadeus” to “`Allo `Allo!” There have been musicals, one-act play festivals, historical and contemporary drama and many, many comedies. The Ember Players are a section of the Ember Sports and Social Club, (www.embersportsclub.org.uk), with our own clubhouse that boasts a subsidised bar, ample rehearsal space as well as dedicated storage areas for props, set construction materials and costumes etc. As a member of the club there are additional opportunities to take part in other sporting activities such as tennis, bowls and croquet as well as joining in our thriving social side that offers a range of events during the course of the year that include; play readings, theatre trips, quiz nights, local walks and murder mystery themed evenings. There are about 50 members of the drama group providing stage crew, actors, directors, sound and lighting and many more!
