Save the date! R&F Mo: Woandering 🌳

We are delighted to announce a solo exhibition for South London-based artist R&F Mo.

Mo’s multi-faceted practice explores connections between the seen, the sensed and the dreamed. Spanning drawing, painting, printmaking, sewing, and sculpture, her imagery is inhabited by fantastical figures that navigate imaginary landscapes with a sense of playfulness - and the hope of a brighter future.

‘Woandering’ - which is the title of the artist’s book on drawing, as well as the exhibition - in Mo’s words - ‘unites the physical and mental states of a person in motion and thinking’.

Open Thursday - Saturday 11am - 5.30pm/ Mon - Weds by appt.

(*Please note that the gallery will be closed on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October as we will be at Imprint Art Fair)

Mo’s book, ‘Notes from a Drawn Path’, will be published on 15 October by Anomie (Anomie Publishing ).

This new painting by Katherine Jones RA is part of our current solo exhibition for the artist titled ‘There Will Be Years Ahead of Now’.

The starting point for this painting were studies made in Alayrac, in southern France, although the painting itself was made in Crete. Renowned as a printmaker, Katherine has increasingly been exploring painting on a range of scales, in this case, combining oil and acrylic. The artist’s interest in the human characteristics of flowers is reflected here in the pair of darkly painted figs, which - heighted by a luminous horizon - stare out at the viewer.

One month to go! Imprint Art Fair 💫

We are looking forward to exhibiting at Imprint Art Fair (Imprint Art Fair ) which will take place from 29 October - 1 November at RHS Lawrence Hall, Westminster, London.

Formerly Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, Imprint will continue to bring together leading international galleries, publishers and institutions to celebrate the best in contemporary original printmaking, alongside a dynamic talks programme, workshops, and an open call ‘Discovery’ section.

We are proud to be showing limited edition and unique works by 11 artists including Suzanne Moxhay, Alistair Gow, Soheila Sokhanvari, Jake Garfield, Bobbye Fermie, Siphiwe Mnguni, Coco Crampton, Marion Macphee, Julia Peintner, Heidrun Rathgeb and Archie Franks.

We’re excited to be part of this exciting new iteration of the fair having exhibited at Woolwich for the past five years.

Typical of the artist’s glowing, luminescent imagery, this print celebrates the humble daisy’s transformative powers on a grand scale.

The artist is pictured here in her London studio running this print through the press - with thanks to Alun Callender Photography for these beautiful photographs.

This variable edition print is part of our current solo exhibition of new work by Katherine titled ‘There Will Be Years Ahead of Now’.

One of the larger prints in this body of work, ‘Later On’ features a silhouetted house on the horizon of the composition which, along with archetypal forms such as flowers and the sun, are motifs running through the artist’s practice. Providing a stark contrast with the dynamic, organic forms in the foreground, it suggests a place of refuge as dusk falls.

New work by Katherine Jones RA 💫

We are delighted to be launching a new body of work by Royal Academician Katherine Jones in our upcoming solo exhibition ‘There Will Be Years Ahead of Now.’

Katherine’s limited edition prints and paintings explore perceptions of refuge and danger, using archetypal motifs such a house, a flower, or the sun. Her imagery - which is characterised by a particular luminosity - is often created through unique combinations of traditional printmaking processes such as etching, collagraph and block-print.

Katherine Jones RA: There Will Be Years Ahead of Now

We are looking forward to presenting new work by Royal Academician Katherine Jones in a solo exhibition opening on Thursday September 17th from 6-8pm.

Featuring new limited edition prints and paintings, ‘There Will Be Years Ahead of Now’ will continue to explore the artist’s fascination with the transformative processes and human characteristics found within the natural world.

In Jones’ words:

‘In the first book of ‘Metamorphoses’, Deucalion and Pyrrha’s stones become humans, and Daphne turns into a Laurel tree. These and other transformations provided starting points for several of these new editions.

These works also reflect on the act of making, particularly printmaking and its iterative nature. Many conscious and unconscious decisions happen during the making of a print; subtle choices about how and where to place a particular colour, its opacity, its strength.

Within the show I have, at times, reinterpreted the same images, reassembling the original plates to show iterations innate to traditional printmaking.’
