A new arrival in our online shop:

Archie Franks
‘Football’, 2024
Pastel on paper
24 x 32cm

Archie Franks’ (.franks ) imagery explores familiar British cultural motifs such the fairground, puddings and cricket. Characterised by expressive, dynamic mark-making, his playful drawings, prints and paintings often hint at the haunting undertones that nostalgia can evoke.

Alistair Gow
‘Flag’, 2026
Oil on board
20 x 16cm

This new painting by Alistair Gow is on show as part of ‘Paths Made’, his first solo exhibition in London (5 June - 4 July 2026).

The single white flag is a motif that the artist has previously explored in his printmaking practice, described by him as ‘an increasingly vital image today....asking for peace or surrender’.

Renowned as a printmaker, Alistair’s paintings represent another thread within his practice. These intimate, expressive works - which contrast dramatically in scale to his larger etchings - allow him to investigate his interests beyond the parameters of contemporary printmaking processes.

The 2026 Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition is (nearly) open! 💫

We are so proud of the many artists whose work we’ve shown in the gallery over the past year, who have been selected for this year’s Summer Exhibition.

Featuring an astounding 1851 works, this year’s show has to be one of the biggest ever - and it looks fantastic.

Congratulations to all of the artists who are showing work this year 🎉

Now Open! Alistair Gow: Paths Made 💫

We are proud to present the first solo exhibition in London for Scottish contemporary printmaker Alistair Gow.

‘Paths Made’ continues to explore the artist’s fascination with the routine journeys he makes through the surrounding areas of his home town of Glasgow. In these works, made across the the past year, parkland and architecture are captured in blazing sunshine - or the solitary depths of a mid-winter night - suggesting, for the artist, ‘shifts in time, seasons, and thinking’.

‘Paths Made’ features new limited edition and unique prints ranging from small to monumental in scale, alongside a selection of figurative oil paintings. These intimate, expressive works represent a new thread within the artist’s practice, allowing him to investigate beyond the parameters of contemporary printmaking processes.

Alistair Gow: Paths Made

We are proud to be presenting the first London solo exhibition for Glasgow-based contemporary printmaker Alistair Gow.

‘Paths Made’ features new limited edition prints, monotypes and small-scale oil paintings created using the artist’s characteristically luminescent palette.

Informed by Alistair’s routine trips around Glasgow, these atmospheric works are as much about finding intrigue in the ordinary, as they are about specific trees and buildings along well-trodden paths. Seemingly unassuming objects such as a pair of scissors from the studio also become subject matter, worthy of a moment of pause.

This unique work on paper by Royal Academician Eileen Cooper is part of her current solo exhibition, ‘Lyrical’, which presents 14 previously unseen drawings made in response to a group of poems by acclaimed writer Denise Riley.

High drama - with a hint of the surreal - ‘Mascara’, in Eileen’s words, is dedicated to ‘all of us who’ve ever cried when wearing too much make-up.’

‘Lyrical’ continues at Oliver Projects Gallery until 30 May.
