The club, at one stage was the biggest in the country and had over 45 registered players entered in every league, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 17, Senior and Ladies. Over the years the club has had a lot of success within the Eastern Counties, the National Leagues, the Premier League and Internationally. Come runners up 23 times. Won the Eastern Cup competitions 39 times. Come runners up 19
times. Won the Premier League once. Come runners up 3 times. We have had 42 players from all age groups get selected to represent England in the European and World Championships and after being spotted at these competitions we have had 3 players compete professionally abroad in Portugal, Italy & Spain. We currently have 7 players from the club in the National teams. Today the club is growing again with a range of boys, girls, men and women from all age groups, from as young as 5 years all the way up to 65 (ish). The ambition of the club is to grow, specifically in the number of younger players who will hopefully be playing for one of Letchworths teams in the near future. The club's success can be measured by its continued growth, and the players' enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment shown during training sessions, games and tournaments. A large number of the club members play in regional tournaments in places such as Ely, Soham, and Peterborough. This gives the children a chance to network and interact with other children outside their normal scope. Although competitive on the rink, friendships are easily made. Coaching at the club is delivered at as professional a level that can be achieved by an amateur sport. Among our coaches are also ex-England international players, two of whom are our head coaches, Nigel and Andrew Allen have played for over 35 years and have been coaching for over 20 years. Nigel is now the Regional Development Officer and takes an active role coaching at National Project training sessions helping develop future England players from around the country. The England National Team coach also attends our training sessions once a month to help our players learn and progress. Equipment is available to new starters (shin pads, gloves, knee pads and stick), all you have to do is bring along your skates. We train new starters on Thursday evenings from 17.30. We train the Under 15’s & 17’s Wednesday nights from 19:00 to 21:00 at North Herts Leisure Centre in Letchworth and on a Thursday night train the Under 9’s, 11’s, 13’s and Seniors from 17:30 to 21:45 at Knights Templar Sports Centre in Baldock.
