"Learn to Ride Kids"
Have you a budding cyclist?
We are running Cycle proficiency lessons at Tenterden station, in partnership with Wider Experience
The first one will be on Monday 12th August,
This is an introductory course for parents wanting their children to learn to ride safely on a bicycle or increase their confidence and skills:
This fun and engaging course aims to provide a comprehensive program that will take the rider from complete beginner to being able to ride solo comfortably on their own and be able to signal, manoeuvre and start and stop a journey.
It includes:
How to ride safely
Correct clothing
How to fit helmet
Starting and stopping a journey
Balancing on the bike
Avoiding potholes & obstacles in the road
Signalling
Controlled stop and emergency stop
1.5 hours long and has a maximum of 10 children per lesson.
Cost is £10 per session
age groups available will be
4 to 5 year olds will 09:00-10:30
6 to 8 years, 11am-12:30
9 to 11 years, 14:00-15:30
YOUR INSTRUCTOR IS A KENT COUNTY COUNCIL CYCLING INSTRUCTOR, FIRST AID TRAINED AND IS DBS CHECKED.

The George is pleased to be teaming up with Kents bespoke cycling adventure company Wider Experience

And on 2nd & 3rd September we will be having a free 2 hour group guided cycle ride, starting from the George, riding around our beautiful countryside, whilst keeping safe away from any busy roads! And as its a circular route, you can reward yourself with a well earnt pint....or 2...with us!

The rides will depart from the George car park at 11am. Each ride will be led by Glenn Thompson, founder of Wider Experience. Glenn will also provide a free bike check at the start. If you want to join but don’t own a bike, you can hire one of his standard bikes for just £20.

There are just 16 places available each day for adults only (over 18) so pre-booking is needed, as usual please drop me a message or pop into the George to reserve your spot to have a green riding experience!

Wider Experience offers experiences and tours for all ages and abilities to enable to riders to connect with the local Kent and East Sussex landscape by offering bespoke rides through places like The Saxon Shore Way, Route 18, The North Downs Way, Kent AONB, Pilgrims Trail, Wye, Chilham, Kings Wood, Canterbury and coastal routes through Rye, Folkestone, Sandgate, Hythe, Dover, Deal, Margate, Ramsgate, Botany Bay, Whitstable and Herne Bay.

The course is in Tenterden at the tennis courts on the Recreation Ground Road and is 1.5 hours long and has a maximum of 5 children per lesson.

We popped into see Hukins Hops recently and really impressed with the plans and building works that are going on there. As well as the hop picking tours, there will be a taproom, restaurant and accomodation in the late summer. We Look forward to taking our cycling customers there soon.

Superb family cycling lesson in Tenterden today with Simon, Charmaine and their 3 beautiful girls. Wanting to get the girls confident on their bikes ready for summer family rides- absolutely love that and no better time to start than now.
