BREWERS LECTURES NORWICH - ONE WEEK TODAY!

Norwich. The City of Ale. The Brewers Lectures come to for the first time this March. Join us for an afternoon of thought-provoking talks, engaging discussion and of course, excellent beer.

In 2020, the Norwich City of Ale festival celebrates its 10th year. So there was no better time for the Brewers Lectures to host its first event in this fine city.

Taking place on the 18th March, it promises to be a fantastic afternoon with talks from some of the industry’s leading lights. With this there will be absorbing discussion and a wealth of brilliant beer.

Fergus Fitzgerald | Adnams

Fergus Fitzgerald is the head brewer at Adnams. Starting out at West London’s Fuller’s, Fitzgerald joined the Suffolk business in 2004 as assistant brewer before being promoted to the role of head brewer in June 2008. Highly regarded and respected by all that know him, Fitzgerald has helped ensure Adnams is a brewery that’s popular as much for its established staples as it is for its diverse, newer releases.

Miranda Hudson | Duration Brewing

Miranda Hudson is cofounder of Duration Brewing, a progressive farmhouse brewery built to make ‘Beers That Belong’ in Norfolk. Miranda’s deft project management skills have raised Duration’s profile ahead of its imminent opening later this year. Miranda and Derek Bates (cofounder and brewer) have released high profile collaborative and own beers while planning and building Duration from the ground up to deliver wild ales and fresh beers from nature with purpose.

Charles O’Reilly | Burnt Mill Brewery

Charles O’Reilly is the founder of Suffolk’s Burnt Mill. The Badley-based brewery has gone from strength-to-strength since starting out back in 2015, including being recognised as the Best New Brewery in England at the prestigious RateBeer Awards. Its beers such as Pintle, Galaxy Fog and Rosetta Cone have resonated with drinkers, just as its collaborations with breweries such as Cloudwater, Fieldwork, Other Half and Finback.

Lotte Peplow | Brewers Association

Lotte Peplow is the craft beer ambassador for Europe at the Brewers Association. A Certified Cicerone and beer sommelier, Lotte also writes about beer, judges beer, brews beer, and is a keen beer and food pairing advocate.

Yvan Seth | Good Beer

Yvan Seth is the founder of wholesale craft beer distribution and dispense business Jolly Good Beer. Seth says he’s a “beer enthusiast putting his life towards promoting the best beers he can find” but he’s much more than that. An expert and advocate in cold-chain distribution, Seth ensures customers get the beer they want while breweries, pubs and pubs call on him time and time again for his wide-ranging expertise in dispense.

Christian Townsley | North Brewing Co

Christian Townsley is a pioneer of the modern Uk brewing industry. along with his co-founder John Gyngell, townsley founded North Bar and North Brewing, picking up a wealth of awards for their beer, branding and business acumen.

Gabe Barry | The Brooklyn Brewery

Gabe Barry is the head of Brooklyn Brewery’s education programme in Europe. Having started with Brooklyn Brewery as its tasting room manager, she has gone on to spent years educating drinkers across the globe about the sensory experience of what makes a good beer. With an insatiable drive and enthusiasm, Barry was once told that if you ever see something that should be a position within a company, continue do the best version of your current job but also, write the description for the other job. She that at Brooklyn and encourages others to do so, too.

Jonny Mowat | Street

Jonny Mowat is an excellent designer at O Street, a studio based in Glasgow, London and Denver. Shortlisted for the Rising Star award in Design Week’s 2019 Design Awards, Mowat is part of a team that worked on the rebrand of Fyne Ales and Brewdog’s Abstrakt range to a recent redesign of Scotlands Polymer banknotes.

Paul Jones | Cloudwater Brew Co

Paul Jones is the founder of Cloudwater Brew Co. The Manchester-based outfit, which produced some of, if not, its best beer to-date during 2019 has long-since established itself as one of the UK’s leading breweries. The guardians of this year’s Northern Powerhouse series of collaborations has demonstrated a deft ability to produce a wide spectrum of beers from accessible hoppy pales and nuanced lagers to DIPAs and barrel-aged beauties with unerring ease. The second iteration of Friends & Family & Beer, its not-for-profit beer festival taking pace on 21/22 February promises to be another success, celebrating the best beer from the UK and across the globe.

Luca Lorenzi | NORTHERN MONK

Luca Lorenzi is the strategy director at Northern Monk. In his role at the Leeds-based brewery, Lorenzi is helping lead capacity expansion from 23,000HL to 50,000HL as well as oversee its commercial strategy. He was previously on trade marketing director for Europe at AB InBev before moving to the UK to become managing director at Camden Town Brewery. In this time, total beer volume grew 108% and net revenue increased 111%.

Rob Lovatt | Thornbridge Brewery

Rob Lovatt is the head brewer at Bakewell’s Thornbridge. In his role at one of the UK’s most respected and regarded breweries, Lovatt produces excellent, approachable beers. He has also overseen significant investment in the company’s bottling and canning operations

Sienna O’ Rourke | Pressure Drop Brewing

Sienna O’Rourke is the powerhouse behind Pressure Drop’s marketing and online presence. With over a decade of experience working in hospitality & the beer industry, Sienna has embraced Pressure Drop’s DIY ethos to create a dazzling visual identity for the North London brewery.

Robert Percival | Lallemand Brewing

Robert Percival is a qualified brewing professional with extensive experience in quality and technical roles in beer production. As Europe technical sales manager for yeast and bacteria specialists Lallemand, the IBD young brewer of the year 2013/14 is an expert in the fields of fermentation and cask beer production and dedicates his time helping brewers take their production to the next level.
