The aims - A friendly and inclusive environment / Cool music / a place for record collectors and fans to come together. Uddingston Indie Forever started in May 2023 was started by friends, neighbours and music obsessives (Murray and Gerry) with a night at Uddingston Bowling and Tennis Club. The night sold out within a week of the 95 tickets going on sale! People danced, people sang along, people c
hilled out in the beer garden (the weather was ace!)and everyone had a good time. Indie music was at the heart of our first night, so we're keeping the name. But over time we'll play all kinds of stuff from the 60's onwards. Gerry has DJ'd professionally and extensively all over Glasgow and Scotland and was former resident DJ in the ABC. The Admiral Woods is a regular haunt for Gerry and he is a firm favourite at their annual Bowie night. Murray has put on DJ nights and bands across Glasgow and always enjoys the chance to play records, or (these days - as it's a lot easier than carting records around) get behind digital decks. We'll aim to put on a night every few months and will do for as long as people come to dance.
