I am sure everyone agrees that what Ukraine is going through is absolutely heartbreaking 💔
We have all been speaking about how helpless we feel and how we can do something, however small, to let the people of Ukraine know they are in our thoughts and hearts.
As of Monday, we will be collecting the much needed critical items.
Nappies, toiletries, bandages, antiseptic creams/wipes, sanitary products, blankets, and toothbrushes.
If you want to drop any of the above at our reception, please feel free to do so.
We are open at 8am until 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.
🇺🇦They have requested no more clothes please as they are inundated🇺🇦
We will also be arranging a sponsored exercise bike ride.
🇺🇦More details soon.🇺🇦

True Love
By Helen Steiner Rice

True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.

True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.

True love makes no harsh demands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

Today we received the very sad news that Christine and Keith's friend Keith had passed away.

Keith & Marjorie were always there for all of us.
Alzheimer's, was something very close to their hearts, even whilst looking after the love of her life, Marjorie found time to volunteer at our fundraisers and kindly made personal donations.
You can see from the photo how happy Keith was, surrounded by his loving family.
Sending all our love to Marjorie and the family😪❤
❤RIP Keith💔

Jim's family have so kindly chosen our Sensory Farm to donate money raised from the sale of their precious dad Jim's book of poetry heres their story of their lovely dad.

Our Dad, Jim Sumner, was the kindest, most incredible man. He was happily married to Viv for 66 years, was a brilliant dad and Grandad, and during his working life, was a much loved primary school teacher and head teacher. He loved life and had many interests including cricket, theatre club, gardening, chapel, writing poems and stories, and helping other people. He had a great sense of fun, was kind, very sociable and always great company. His family are grateful that despite his Alzheimers’ which was diagnosed in 2015, Jim never lost his enjoyment of being with family and continued to write poems until the later stages of his illness. For his 90th birthday, the family collected his poems from all corners of his house and compiled a book which was illustrated by Viv's paintings. Jim was proud of his poem book and it gave him a sense of purpose when his books were printed and sold to raise money for his chapel and Alzheimer's support. Jim's family and friends have many happy memories of a wonderful man.

We can not be more grateful for the kindness and support we receive from our local community.
Recently we received a cheque for £1120.00 from All Singers Great and Small (what a fabulous name) a community choir group based in Leigh.
The money was raised by doing concerts, they chose our Sensory Farm as their chosen charity.
We usually do fun raisers but for obvious reasons we couldn't open or raise the much needed funds required to look after the animals or do any maintenance.
Thank you so much Christine, June & Nicola

We are extremely humbled that Kens family and friends thought of us when Ken sadly passed away recently, he and his family where frequent visitors to our fishing pond.
They found a safe space for him to carry on fishing.whilst living with Alzheimer's.
Thank you so much for your amazing donation of £700.00, this will be put to good use and used in memory of Ken.

′′ He is 85 and insists on taking his wife hand in hand wherever they go.
When I asked why your wife is distracted, like she wasn't following anyone? He replied: She have Alzheimer's..
So I said, will your wife worry if you let her go? He replied, ′′ She doesn't remember... She doesn't know who I am anymore, she hasn't recognized me for years ".
Surprised, I said, ′′ and still you continue to guide on the way every day even though she doesn't recognize you ".
The elderly man smiled and looked into my eyes.
he said, ′′ She doesn't know who I am, but I know who she is ".

′′ SHE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE ′′!" ♥️

Thank you for our new shelter

Hi everyone a little late in the day, but just a catch up with all our amazing supporters.
We have taken the decision to remain closed to our visitors for the remainder of the year we take our visitors & volunteers safety very seriously.
Until we can be 100% sure this horrific virus has gone away then this is the only way ensure everyone's welfare & safety.
Like many other people it isn't an easy time, but the work must go on.
Animals to feed and take care off.
Farm maintenance still to do.
A big thank you to our animal adopters for continuing to support us financially xx
A big thank you to last year's 3rd year Chester University nursing students who raised money for the farm.
Below is the new shelter we bought with the money raised, as you can see it is definitely appreciated by our Llamas, Alpacas, donkey's & Shetlands.
Until we all meet again take care and stay safe❤
