This detailed in and was completed recently for a wonderful lady in her late 50's confirming 50 is the new 40! She's agreed to allow me to publicise the image as she loves it and feels proud! What I loved was the fact that she is very senior and in command of her business life and yet, just like most of us, has the more closely held and more secret sensuous identity and the wish to keep playing! She chose lingerie which was yes, more or less revealing - and yet still very sensuous and most importantly, made her feel 'Vavavoom!'.
Here's some of her testimonial....
"It is my tenth wedding anniversary this year and it occurred to me that having my portrait drawn would be an unusual but very personal gift for my husband on our anniversary. I made initial contact with Skye to talk through in more detail whether this was something I wanted to do. I am 58 years old and I was nervous about the thought of having a Bo***ir Portrait.
Skye was very easy to talk to and reassuring , I booked a sitting and was given some pointers in terms of the types of clothing and accessories I could consider. I found buying the clothing a challenge because I kept gravitating towards anything that would cover me up, which was the opposite of what I was trying to achieve. I finally settled on two articles of clothing one revealing slightly more than the other.
On the day of the sitting I arrive at the studio excited and nervous. The whole day was an extremely positive and memorable experience, it was a pleasure and a delight being in Skye’s company. She is a warm and intuitive person who is very easy to talk to and be with. My anxieties quickly melted away as we talked and laughed, when the drawing commenced it seemed to flow naturally from conversation to pose. She made the whole process relaxed and natural (if sitting still for ages can be natural!).
Following my sitting Skye continued to work on my portraits over the next week or so and I waited in anticipation for sight of the finished drawings. When the drawings arrive I was thrilled, they were fabulous, they were very stylish and she had captured me well, I know my husband will be absolutely delighted. I not only have two beautiful portraits from a very talented artist but also the memories of the terrific day I shared with Skye".
I've just heard from my client this morning and apparently her husband shed a tear! It confirms to me the power of the giving of yourself as the most intimate and affirming gesture and a fabulous and unique gift!
