Last night 37147 and 50031 ran the first working trains on the rewired and relayed track.
With a big thanks to Andy Bennett, Chris & Ryan Baker, for all their efforts to making it happen.
An O gauge layout set in Scotland in the 1980s /90s with sound and lights and some smoke to bring to life an amazing experience ! The layout is set to depict the Glasgow suburbs in the mid to late 1980's and uses a lenz 100 system with full sound and lights fitted to all the locos.
Low Hill is a busy terminus station with a steady mix of loco hauled passenger trains ranging from Intercity routes linking Low Hill to Glasgow (queen street and central), Aberdeen, Edinbourgh and Inverness (usually seeing duff haulage, Dmus and even Dmu replacments) also linking with the West highland line with a train twice a day which can see a veriaty of 37's, 26's and 20's. Well the good news is that Low Hill came out of storage last night and was mostly reassembled. It needs cleaning and track alterations under review to become part of the semi permanent club layout

It's been a long while since any update has been posted so tonight I got a few locos out for a quick shoot. Not much has happened over the last few months due to life in general but GM is still being slowly worked at.

First time out for 37422
37422&37421 working together yesterday .
Got two of the GM girls out tonight. They were used on track testing to make sure everything laid works. Little bits of scenery have been done too. Next is to wire up all the point motors and then work towards the motorway bridge.
Looking down!
37418 from the far end bridge.
Due to other commitments over the last year GM had unwantedly taken a back seat. I did some self isolation/winding down last night and set about doing a bit on it to get things moving again. Hopefully the shed section wont take too long to finish now
One of the recent models to roll off the bench is 37426 in its beaten 1995 state
Class 37 DCC sound decoders - our favourite four!
Digital Sound is a big part of model railways and the Class 37 is one of the most iconic locomotives in the UK. We're showing you four of our favourite Class...
Class 50s
Still stuck in the 90s!
After running out of swear words, exclaiming regret, launching files across the room and generally abusing dremel cutting discs in the direction of my fellow club members (we have insurance itll be r**t) It looks something like. Just some gaps to fill and the tumble holme to alter and itll be pretty much bang on!
Sorry for the lack of updates. A house move and life has somewhat got in the way. I managed to find a few hours this eve to make a start of the first of two slugs. This one will be 901 in 95 condition followed by 906 in its 96 ELR condition.
Sticking with the getting things ready for the MIOG show next weekend. Dave's 101 yas gone one the back burner due to lack of transfers but Railtec burnt some midnight oil for us and knocked the Transrail and Regi bits out.
First up is 37407. So far its had the cant stripes altered, eye liner painted out yellow, full compliments of railtec transfers, hand painted Selwyn Sheep, long horn at No1 end swapped for a short horn and over sized boiler port removed.
If I have time 674 will be done too!
One I'm immensely proud of. 37408 near enough as she was I'm 1988 ready to join the ED petroleum pool based at GM
With progress on GM still at a standstill the loco fleet is not! A Bachmann brass 101 being quite heavily modified to bring it up to standard with a ton of Easybuild bits and being finished in Regional Railways for a friend.
37s 408 and 423 for our own fleet being completed in the usual 1988 conditions. And 418 being finished off as it is today for another friend.
Another beast nearly done. A little bit of of frame dirt, glazing back in and nameplates and it'll be fit for the WHL
Apologies for being quite, things are still moving on slowly! Here are two current projects that are on the way. On the left is 37423 which will be out shopped in Metals and on the right is 40106 being done as it currently stands in real life for a club member.
Getting there.
Two of three ready to go.
With us still working on the MIOG november show things are still slower than normal for the layouts and stock. Though the Low Hill team are out this coming weekend at the GOGs Telford show with the MIOG team. With this in mind we like to have odd and unusual stuff on the stand so an hour or so weathering Ethel 1 and it's nearly ready to be put back together and join Ethel 2!
More useful figures.
So with November drawing near (there will be a big update soon over on the MIOG page) we received word Eaton Lane which was the booked ultra modern image layout has had to drop out. This left us with a big gap not catered for so I decided to set (another) challenge and build a layout ready for the show, with all the looming RTR that would be perfect for this I wanted to also throw in a size restriction to show detail and a nice small layout can be achieved in O gauge.
The layout is a very simple one and represents a single track brachline through the middle with loco storage at the back and a pair of small wagon sidings for a little shunting at the front. It's done with a picture frame as I want the scenery to disappear round the sides but still be shown.
I'll add updates as we go along.
