Recently sold . Illuminating Footprints- 150 x 80cm
The tendency as human beings to want to bury aspects of our past in favour of an unsullied future and a pain free present ignores the possibility that the past can inform. Indeed there is an occasional dare to hope that the suppressed fossils of our past may reemerge from the inertia, ’gilded’ with the courage and confidence to live free. Some of the ignored opportunities to nourish potential fall away and are subsumed within our deeper, darker layers. Unfortunately I’m not in a position to paint atm….and I’m really missing it so apologies in advance for any regurgitated old painting posts. This was an old painting but a recent sale. Thanks

Why do so many of us feel guilty about looking after ourselves - sometimes even making ourselves ill wasting limited time and energy on those that either don’t deserve or don’t really need our help. A friend sent me this and I thought it’s a useful reminder that it’s not selfish to devote time to keeping ourselves healthy.
