Take a trip down memory lane with us. Last week's programme launch got us feeling nostalgic.

Looking back at everything we’ve packed into our first year (and a bit), it's hard to believe how much we've already achieved.

We've toured the whole of Wales twice, popped shows to London twice, worked with extraordinary artists, welcomed huge audiences across the country, and created memories we'll be talking about for years to come.

Some moments feel like they happened yesterday. Others feel impossible to explain to anyone who wasn't there. (Looking at you, Stella the border collie that’s besties with Matthew Rhys! 🐾)

Gwnaeth lansio'r rhaglen wythnos diwethaf gwneud i ni deimlo'n hiraethus.

Wrth edrych yn ôl ar bopeth rydyn ni wedi'i llenwi mewn ein blwyddyn gyntaf (a rhywfaint), mae'n anodd credu faint rydyn ni eisoes wedi'i gyflawni.

Rydyn ni wedi teithio Cymru gyfan ddwywaith, wedi cymryd sioeau i Lundain ddwywaith, wedi gweithio gydag artistiaid rhyfeddol, wedi croesawu cynulleidfaoedd enfawr ledled y wlad, ac wedi creu atgofion y byddwn ni'n siarad amdanyn nhw am flynyddoedd i ddod.

Mae rhai eiliadau'n teimlo fel pe baent wedi digwydd ddoe. Mae eraill yn teimlo'n amhosibl eu hesbonio i unrhyw un nad oedd yno. (Wrth edrych arnat ti, Stella y ci border collie sy'n ffrind gorau i Matthew Rhys! 🐾)

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Owain Rhys Davies at the age of 44.

Owain was a remarkable talent whose work enriched Welsh theatre and screen, and whose contribution to the performing arts will be remembered by audiences, colleagues, and friends alike. His passion, creativity, and dedication to his craft made a lasting impact on the cultural life of Wales.

The Welsh performing arts community is poorer for his loss, and we can only imagine the many more stories he would have gone on to tell.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Owain's family, friends, loved ones, and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

An incredible atmosphere at Wolf Studios Wales last night ✨

From inspiring conversations to exciting announcements, it was amazing to see so many familiar faces coming together to celebrate the launch of our new programme, partnerships and initiatives with Bad Wolf and Screen Alliance Wales.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the evening, and continues to champion the creative industries in Wales. The energy in the room said it all 💫

Last night at Wolf Studios Wales, we officially launched our new programme, partnerships and initiatives. Including the Stage & Screen Writers’ Scheme alongside Bad Wolf and Screen Alliance Wales.

A brilliant evening filled with collaboration, conversation and shared ambition for the future of the creative industries in Wales.

It was fantastic to celebrate this next chapter together and to see so many people from across the sector in the room as well as a huge number of writers!

Here’s to building even more opportunities, supporting new talent, and continuing to strengthen the industry together. ✨

After a sold-out run across Wales, My Mix(ed up) Tape is heading to Edinburgh Festival in 2027.

Katie Payne’s funny, fierce and full-throttle story shines a light on modern Wales through identity, class, rage, belonging and one unforgettable Valleys wedding.

Taking Welsh stories to new audiences is a huge part of what Welsh National Theatre is here to do.

One of Wales’ most loved comedies returns.

Frank Vickery’s A Night on the Tiles will tour in 2028, ten years on from the passing of one of Wales’ most celebrated playwrights. Bringing iconic Welsh stories back to audiences across Wales is a huge part of what Welsh National Theatre is here to do.

Wales has stories the world needs to hear 🎭

Today, we’re sharing the next chapter for Welsh National Theatre.

From Dame Siân Phillips returning to the Welsh stage, to new writing opportunities with Bad Wolf, to Welsh stories travelling from Wales to Edinburgh, Broadway and beyond.

Alongside the previously announced Amadeus starring Michael Sheen and Callum Scott Howells, these new productions, partnerships and pathways are helping shape the future of Welsh theatre.

And this is only the start.
