Abbey Players are proud to support this orchestrated concert of My Fair Lady, in memory of our former musical director and friend John Davies.
Musically directed by Jonathan Arthur Lycett, directed by Kathryn Wheel, and featuring many of our current and former members, this promises to be a wonderful night of spectacular music 🎵

🤗 A huge Abbey welcome to our Musical Director, Andrew Harries, who is bringing the incredible score of Frozen to life!

❄️We asked Andrew what he’s most excited about musically in this year’s show…

“Frozen is such a fantastic score to work on because the music has such a wonderful mix of energy, emotion, harmony and that unmistakable Disney magic.

Of course, we have those huge numbers like Let It Go, For the First Time in Forever and Love Is an Open Door, but there are also some absolutely beautiful musical moments that audiences who only know the film may never have heard before.

For me, the exciting part is bringing all of that together and creating that huge Disney sound live in the theatre.

We’ve got an incredibly talented company and there are already moments in rehearsal where you hear everything come together and think, ‘This is going to be special.

I can’t wait for audiences to hear it!” 🎶❄️

🤗 A huge welcome back this year to our creative director Ashley Eynon-Davies
Having fabulously directed Les Miserables’Let the People Sing’ at the Grand Theatre last year, and Abbey’s 2024 production of Beauty and the Beast,

👀We asked him about his vision for this years show…

‘I feel it’s important to keep the Disney magic at the heart of it, while bringing something fresh and exciting to the stage.

For the first time for the company, we’ll be using a magical digital set alongside traditional scenery and props to bring the world of Arendelle to life.

But most importantly, I want it to feel real and full of heart. Warm, funny, magical and lots of fun.

A Frozen that feels familiar, but with a little bit of our own magic too’💙

🫶One year ago today, in a heatwave 🔥, we opened our performance of Les Miserables ‘Let the People Sing’ at Swansea Grand Theatre
🫶A collaboration between us, Swansea Amateur Operatic Society and CAOS Presents and involving over 100 cast members from all across South Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
🫶Led by our amazing creative team of Ashley Eynon Davies and Jonathan Lycett it was an honour to perform this iconic show in Swansea, and was such an incredible experience no one involved will forget!
🥰 Let the People Sing Cymru lives on in our hearts and memories 💙🤍❤️
